No...Compasssionate, Conservative, Christians aren't violent, they are #Hypocrites

Ku Klux Klan members at a cross burning in 2005

So, the Conservative, Compassionate, Christian, Crowd have their knickers in a knot because President Obama told the truth and shamed the Devil at the National Prayer Breakfast last week.  The faux outrage is proof Americans are afraid to have an honest discussion about history.
“Humanity has been grappling with these questions throughout human history,” Obama said in his speech at the Washington Hilton. “And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Hmm.....I wonder where did  President Obama learn his moral equivalency garbage?  It's not like Christians don't sin in the name of The Lord Snark

That's right (pun intended), President Obama learned his moral equivalency garbage from Reverend Jeremiah Wright.  You know,  his former pastor republicans, enabled by the media, forced him to reject, renounce, and repudiate for preaching the word.
“There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency that can pervert and distort our faith.   In today’s world, when hate groups have their own Twitter accounts and bigotry can fester in hidden places in cyberspace, it can be even harder to counteract such intolerance. But God compels us to try.  And in this mission, I believe there are a few principles that can guide us, particularly those of us who profess to believe.”
" Obama made a speech that was full of the kind of humility that, you know, the Bible asks of people."

There is more than a whiff of hypocrisy.

Americans are not afraid to have an honest discussion about history. In this case, it is Obama that wasn't willing to have an honest discussion about history.

Let's talk about the history of Crusades. Let's talk about how muslim armies had sacked Rome, attacked France, conquered Spain, and had taken over 2/3rds of the Christian world when the Crusades began. The Crusades was not Christians attacking Muslims out of nowhere but Christians standing up and fighting back before they were destroyed.

Let's have an honest discussion about the Inquisition. The Inquisition was every bit as political as it was religious. The areas the Inquisition was most active were areas that were politicially unstable. And we should not forget that the Inquisition lead to Martin Luther and the Reformation. Where Christians took our religion back from those that were abusing it for their own power.

Christians are not not afraid to have an honest discussion about history. We acqknowledge that evils have been done by people claiming to do said evils in the name of Christ but we also believe that those people, most likely, were being deceived by the devil.

So when are "Christians" going to take their religion back from those who are abusing it for their own power again?
