This move makes it harder for me to links to comments. And that's fine. They have the right to do whatever they want to do. They do, they just use a different syntax.

Soapblox's comment link:
http://www.leftinalabama.com/showComment.do?commentId=41880
http://leftinalabama.com/showComment.do?commentId=41918

Wordpress's comment link:
http://leftinalabama.com/alabama-legislature-lays-out-a-welcome-mat-for-federal-epa-with-adem-budget-cuts/#comment-76999
https://abagond.wordpress.com/2015/10/07/my-past-predictions-for-the-future/#comment-296371

Blogger/Blogspot's comment link:
http://redeyesfrontpage.blogspot.com/2015/10/left-in-alabamas-blog-migration-erased.html?showComment=1444242315508#c1952528396035540459
http://legalschnauzer.blogspot.com/2015/10/documents-show-that-former-alabama.html?showComment=1444321423035#c9157563501248032254

SoapBlox is being shut down at the end of the year. LiA had two options, 1) move to a new blog platform, or 2) disappear when SoapBlox shut down. Irregardless of which blog site they moved to, any links to a comment was going to break due to the difference in syntax.

Now if they were truly trying to erase their history, why even put the articles back up? I would think it wouldn't be that hard to erase if they really wanted to. Keep the old site active while you clean the new site of what you don't want there. Or even put up a placeholder page letting people know that you are in transition.

My biggest gripe with the new site is that it is ugly compared to the old site. Might be cleaner looking, but it is ugly.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05649045833784522927noreply@blogger.com
