Throwback Thursday: Why I support the petition requesting the resignation of the Huntsville City Schools superintendent

This post is for those who think the petition calling for the resignation of Huntsville Superintendent Casey Wardynski is "premature" and "ill-timed".

This blast from the past is for those who are afraid to sign the petition.

Listen to this interview and tell me you are comfortable with the mentality responsible for the education of our children, who are the hope of our republic.

Listen to this interview and you will see why Wardynski is terrified of questions from the public.

Listen to this interview and you will hear the callous disregard for the safety of the students, teachers, and support personnel at the new north high school.

Listen to this interview and you will see why Councilman Richard Showers was right “We don`t need dictatorship in Huntsville. It’s just not indicative of Huntsvillians to have an attitude or personality of dictatorship,”

Superintendent Dr. Casey Wardynski is doing the job he was hired to do.

Casey you have to break the mold and prove you're not afraid of minorities, democrats, liberals, aclu (sic) types and the entire entitlement crowd! Do that, and you'll be doing the job you were hired to do! Oh yeah, not to mention striking down all racial transfers. And that includes allowing not allowing whites to racially transfer either. If you don't like where your child goes to school, move to where they can be zoned into a school of your preference, that's what I had to do!
“Never, in my 50 plus years of professional and community service, have I seen such a display of arrogance, deception, and deceit,” said Madison County Commissioner Bob Harrison during a recent County Commissioner’s meeting.

“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

Did you ever complain or write articles about Dr. Moore when the North schools were failing? LOL NOPE. It is because she was black! The North schools started failing once most of the whites left (white flight) and moved to the county away from all the crime and violence in North Huntsville! This happened in many many cities in America!! Butler and Johnson were not failing schools in the 70's,80's etc Go look at the diversity then. Is this a coincidence? I THINK NOT!

No you don't think, and therein lies the problem. And yes I did write and complain about Ann Roy Moore failing north Huntsville schools. Whites moved from north Huntsville to get away from black folks. There is crime and violence all over Huntsville/Madison County.

Looks like the good Colonel wants to join the great obstructionists of the Civil Rights movement - George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Ross Barnett, Lester Maddox et. al. And ad nauseum.

A pantheon of punks.

"Segregation now, segregation forever" snarled the banty-rooster goobernor of Alabama 50 years ago. Well, Huntsville's going on 50 years and still kicking...

White Flight from north Huntsville is the cause of an increase in crime and violence in north Huntsville. When whites left so did the services. But if you look at crime statistics in Huntsville, the crime and violence in north Huntsville is about the same as the crime and violence in south Huntsville, Madison, and east and west Huntsville. The media just publicizes the crime and violence in north Huntsville because it's north Huntsville.

WRONG AGAIN. If anything the liberal media down plays the black crime epidemic in Huntsville and other major cities. Example when blacks attack white the media usually never says the race or it says a "group of youths" lol. Services did not stop in North Huntsville!! PRIDE STOPPED. Not many black neighborhoods look nice anymore yet they looked nice in the 80's when the white families that moved here in groves to work on the arsenal.

Pull crime in areas in South Huntsville before and after H.H.A. moved in the new families from the areas of Butler Terrace, mason Court and other housing areas!!!! then tell me the TRUTH about what you find!! lol

What liberal media? If the media were liberal we wouldn't be in this mess. Pull crime in all areas of Huntsville and you will find it's about the same.

The Media is liberal. Polling says the average American believes the media is more liberal then they are and polling of reporters says they are liberal.

Fully 81% of news media professionals favor affirmative action in employment and academia.
Some 71% agree that the “government should work to ensure that everyone has a job.”
75% agree that the “government should work to reduce the income gap between rich and poor.”
56% say that the United States has exploited the nations of the Third World.
57% say that America’s disproportionate consumption of the world’s natural resources is “immoral.”
Nearly half agree that “the very structure of our society causes people to feel alienated.”
Only 30% agree that “private enterprise is fair to workers.”

In 1964, 94% of media professionals voted for Democrat Lyndon Johnson over Republican Barry Goldwater.
In 1968, 86% voted for Democrat Hubert Humphrey over Republican Richard Nixon.
In 1972, 81% voted for Democrat George McGovern over the incumbent Nixon.
In 1976, 81% voted for Democrat Jimmy Carter over Republican Gerald Ford.
In 1980, twice as many cast their ballots for Carter rather than for Republican Ronald Reagan.
In 1984, 58% supported Democrat Walter Mondale, whom Reagan defeated in the biggest landslide in presidential election history.
In 1988, White House correspondents from various major newspapers, television networks, magazines, and news services supported Democrat Michael Dukakis over Republican George H.W. Bush by a ratio of 12-to-1.
In 1992, those same correspondents supported Democrat Bill Clinton over the incumbent Bush by a ratio of 9 to 2.
Among Washington bureau chiefs and congressional correspondents, the disparity was 89% vs. 7%, in Clinton’s favor.
In a 2004 poll of campaign journalists, those based outside of Washington, DC supported Democrat John Kerry over Republican George W. Bush by a ratio of 3-to-1. Those based inside the Beltway favored Kerry by a 12-to-1 ratio.
In a 2008 survey of 144 journalists nationwide, journalists were 8 times likelier to make campaign contributions to Democrats than to Republicans.
A 2008 Investors Business Daily study put the campaign donation ratio at 11.5-to-1, in favor of Democrats. In terms of total dollars given, the ratio was 15-to-1.

In a 1988 survey of business reporters, 54% of respondents identified themselves as Democrats, 9% as Republicans.
In a 1992 poll of journalists working for newspapers, magazines, radio, and television, 44% called themselves Democrats, 16% Republicans.
In a 1996 poll of 1,037 reporters at 61 newspapers, 61% identified themselves as Democrats, 15% as Republicans.
In a 2001 Kaiser Family Foundation poll, media professionals were nearly 7 times likelier to call themselves Democrats rather than Republicans.
A 2014 study by Indiana University's School of Journalism found that just 7.1% of all journalists identified themselves as Republicans, vs, 28.1% who self-identified as Democrats and 50.2% who said they were Independents.

In a 1981 study of 240 journalists nationwide, 65% identified themselves as liberals, 17% as conservatives.
In a 1983 study of news reporters, executives, and staffers, 32% identified themselves as liberals, 11% as conservatives.
In a 1992 study of more than 1,400 journalists, 44% identified themselves as liberals, 22% as conservatives.
In a 1996 study of Washington bureau chiefs and congressional correspondents, 61% identified themselves as liberals, 9% as conservatives.
In a 1996 study of 1,037 journalists, the respondents identified themselves as liberals 4 times more frequently than as conservatives. Among journalists working for newspapers with circulations exceeding 50,000, the ratio of liberals to conservatives was 5.4 to 1.
In a 2004 Pew Research Center study of journalists and media executives, the ratio of self-identified liberals to conservatives was 4.9 to 1.
In a 2007 Pew Research Center study of journalists and news executives, the ratio was 4 liberals for each conservative.

I don't care what "polling says" or what some conservative think tank says, the media is not liberal. Conservatives call any media that dares report the facts, and/or tells the truth "liberal" like that's a bad thing. The media is so afraid of being called liberal they bend over backwards to appease the cons.

Saying north Huntsville is a gang/thug, violent, crime infested, wasteland because the majority of the residents are minorities, is like saying south Huntsville is a KKK, Tea Party, drug infested, bigoted, racist, terrorist wasteland because the majority of the residents are non minorities.

The fact of the matter is neither side of town can claim the moral high ground on anything. A lot of the conditions that plague north Huntsville were created by the leaders of Huntsville and their backers who think like you.

Before the federal courts stepped in and ordered fairness, which we haven't received to this date, the powers that be trampled the rights of minorities with respect to housing, employment, and fatally, with respect to education.

And what I find most offensive is the rush to blame the victims.

In any event, this post is about why I support the resignation of Casey Wardynski. Stay on topic.

This is your warning.

There is a very real movement by wealthy, powerful capitalists to dismantle public education and its unions. The Broad Academy is one key piece of this puzzle and Huntsville City Schools is on the front lines of this corporate assault. The toxic testing and data obsession, bringing in unqualified Teach for America temps while chasing out proven veterans, carrying out policy as a method of "disruption" that disrupts our children most of all, outsourcing and privatizing services, lack of transparency and democratic input, lack of equitable resources, ridiculous class sizes, and seriously, this could go on for several more paragraphs.

If we want the best public education possible for the young people of Huntsville, the current regime has got to go. The only thing that can make this happen is a people's social movement. We're sick and tired of our schools and educators being blamed for the failures of our economy and society!
