1.  Why do you lie and distort the truth so much?

3.  Why do you continue to label President Obama's policies and failed and socialist?

4.  Why in your zeal to cut the deficit do you want to cut spending on the poor?

5.  Why are you so ridiculously intolerant and narrow minded?

6. When will you abandon your idolatry of Ronald Reagan?

7.  Why do you continuously hold meaningless votes and hearings?

8.  Why do you hate America's poor, homeless and workers so much?

9.  WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THOSE JOBS YOU PROMISED?

This is how the republicans plan to siphon off 10% of the black/Hispanic vote in Florida so Wall Street Willie can "win" swing state Florida.....Governor Scott and his flunky, Lt. Governor Jennifer Caroll are going to use a Federal Data Base to disenfranchise them.

You won't see it on TeeVee, but  prisoners in Georgia enter into the 5th week of a hunger strike, demanding medical care, due process and human rights.

Even though I am one of three people banned from participating in the discussion at Left in Alabama,  and it doesn't look like a Christmas miracle is in the cards for RedEye, I (pun intended) will continue to read and link to them because I learn something new every day from the informed, involved, progressive commentary.  Anyhoo, there is a ongoing and fascinating discussion taking  place over the question  Are White, Southern, Men The Problem With Today's GOP?  What I'm learning is white, Southern, men, and I might add women, might be the problem with today's democratic party, because angry, white men and women have infiltrated the democratic party, much like the Tea Party infiltrated the gop.  What say you?

Speaking of the gop infused, media enabled, tea party, welcome to the 2012 republican watershed.   I HOPE and BELIEVE the Suckers are waking up and smelling the Coffee.  Thank you republicans for sending Obama some Christmas balls. And not a minute too soon.

What's that you say?  Segregated Charter Schools Evoke Separate But Equal Era in U.S.?  I'm  shocked!  Shocked I tell you!  NOT.     We can't have ALL children having equal access to a quality, public education.  How else are we going to bring back slavery?

Three Strikes You're Out! Die Boy Die!

Troy Davis has three major strikes against him. First, he is an African-American man. Second, he was charged with killing a white police officer. And third, he is in Georgia

The Georgia Clemency Board denied clemency for Troy Davis. The legal lynching will continue.

Early Tuesday morning, the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles elected to deny clemency to Troy Davis, letting his original punishment stand. His date of execution by lethal injection will take place September 21st as scheduled. The fate of Davis, 42 rested in the hands of the five board members. They are the only entity in Georgia with the power to convert Davis’ death sentence, outside of a last-minute appeal by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Well, I guess they showed us.

The Internet community has also been buzzing in support, with Twitter promoting the hashtag #toomuchdoubt bringing attention to the idea that Georgia may potentially execute an innocent man. Also, close to 1 million signatures have been collected in a petition supporting Davis attempt at clemency. Protesters have also been holding demonstrations outside the board meeting in Atlanta with posters saying “Justice for Tray Davis” and “I Am Troy Davis.” Demonstrations were also held in 300 towns across the globe, which perhaps shows a changing attitude towards executions.

The Georgia Clemency Board shines a harsh light on the American legal system for the world to see.

Davis’ case has garnered international attention, since his impending day of execution this week. While Davis was sentenced to death 20 years ago for the murder of Savannah Police Officer Mark Allen MacPhail. During the course of his time incarcerated, his case has caught the attention of various dignitaries, such as former President Jimmy Carter, Pope Benedict XVI, former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman Fletcher and former FBI Director William Sessions, who all believe that Davis should receive clemency.

The board members, with their dates of appointment, are:

-- Gale Buckner (January 2005), a former GBI agent

-- Bob Keller (January 2007), a former Clayton County district attorney

-- James Donald (January 2009), former commissioner of the Department of Corrections

-- Albert Murray (May 2010), former commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice

-- Terry Barnard (May 2010), former state Representative

If I were a member of the Board, I would want to make damned sure that whomever is sentenced to death actually did the crime.I would not want to execute someone only to find out later that the condemned person was innocent. An execution does not allow for “do-overs” to get it right.

Troy Davis's fate is now in the hands of the United States Supreme Court and, President Barack Hussein Obama.

While Davis is set to go before the state board of pardons and paroles for a final review on September 19th, President Obama should consider granting clemency.
There are several arguments to support Obama's intervention in this case, not the least of which is salvaging the U.S.'s reputation with regard to the integrity of its justice system. We learn in school that the fair administration of justice is a fundamental value in our democracy. We speak of our justice system as if it sets us apart from other leading nations and reflects, at its the core, the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven and the guarantee of a fair trial, if someone has been accused of breaking the law.

And before the righty's start whining, two words, Terri Schiavo.

The legislative, executive, and judicial branches, of both the United States federal government and the State of Florida, were involved in the case of Terri Schiavo. In November 1998 Michael Schiavo, husband of Terri Schiavo, first sought permission to remove his wife's feeding tube. Schiavo had suffered brain damage in February 1990, and in February 2000 had been ruled by a Florida circuit court to be in a persistent vegetative state. Her feeding tube was removed first on April 26, 2001, but was reinserted two days later on an appeal by her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler.

I HOPE and PRAY someone will stop the judicial lynching of Troy Davis.

Despite evidence that he's innocent, Troy Davis faces execution on September 21. With a culture that cheers Rick Perry's execution record, what chance does he have?

What chance does anyone have? What will we tell our children?

And if the clemency bid fails, and Troy Davis is executed next week, I will tell her (and I will pray that it is so) that her message and all the other messages and all the well wishes of all the tens-of-thousands of people who have supported him these many long years were in his heart as authorities gave him those drugs -- that as his life ended, Troy Davis at the very least knew he was being held by tens-of-thousands of loving hands.

Amen and Amen.

Leave all the coloreds and poor behind

That's the new American Education Motto, because that's certainly what the American educational system has done to minorities and poor children.

But, but it's their fault!

Poor colored children don't want to learn.

Poor colored parents don't care about their children.

Poor colored children don't deserve to attend schools with good, God fearing white children.

Poor colored parents don't attend PTA meetings.

Poor colored children can't learn so they bring down the test scores which bring down our property values.

Poor colored parents choose to self segregate.

Poor colored children have no self control and are discipline problems.

Poor colored parents should teach their children how to act at home.

There will be no poor colored child's behind left!

And we wonder why the prison population of African Americans is higher than the population of African Americans? Righty's say it's because African Americans commit more crimes, and that may well be true. But lefty's like me say it's because circumstances force them to commit crimes. Follow me.

No education
No job
No money
No home
No food

So what's a poor colored to do?

Commit a crime (probably a non violent crime)
Go to prison
Have record
No education
No job
No money
No home

It's a viscous, never ending cycle of poverty and despair. Is this what we want?

50 years after Brown v.Board declared seperate but equal unconstitutional, America's public schools are still segregated by race and class. What about that Supreme Court Justices?

The weather outside is frightful so let's take a blog stroll together. Warning, this blog stroll is heavy on racial issues *gasp*, so come along if you dare.

This C-Span caller from Sweet Home Alabama, should put an end to the specualtion the gop is making inroads with minorities and that it doesn't bode well for democrats. *snicker*

To be fair, two callers on a talk show does not make the republican party racist. I mean these guys sounded as old as Methuselah, so I can understand their disdain for not only hope and change. But also the addition of the bumbling-incompetent-bald headed-wide nosed having RNC Chairman, that is Michael Steele. Yep, those guys were the exception to the rule because we all know that the republican party isn't racist. I mean if they were, they would have never elected Steele, right?

The chase contiues, look out for the traps. *sigh*

Things seem to intensify during the holiday season. People's emotions tend to get the better of them, and their true feelings always comes out. It's why my man racism works in overdrive around this time. But I have no problem with chasing his ass around the room and shining a light on him when he stops.

Sheltered White Men

A Sheltered White Man is a white man whose experience rarely goes beyond that of well-to-do White Americans. The power of his class, race, sex and country shelters him from much of the bad done in the world.

True, most people’s experiences are limited by class, race, sex and country. And most people understandably avoid experiencing the bad in the world as much as they can.

What makes Sheltered White Men different is their power:

Speaking of sheltered, priviledged, powerful white men, Gary Palmer says extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich will make Christmas merrier for Alabama. Uh Gary, I'm waiting...

It would be particularly bad for the Alabama economy. According to a report by The Heritage Foundation, if Congress fails to extend the Bush tax cuts, Alabama would lose an average of 9,873 jobs per year, peaking at almost 12,500 jobs by 2016. The average household income in Alabama would go down by $3,498 per year and overall, individual income taxes would go up by $5.3 billion, according to The Heritage Foundation report.

One of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century has been the decline of liberalism and the ascendancy of conservatism. Amen and Amen.

While there are many opinions for the cause of this phenomenon the one that is the most fraudulent is that America is a conservative nation. This false premise has been propagated by those who want to maintain some fictitious sense of America’s past and a desire to reverse the progress we have achieved. Over the course of the last 50 years they have steadily and persistently chipped away at those ideas which defined liberalism (shared sacrifice, equality, and shared responsibility) and replaced them with greed, selfishness, and special interests while simultaneously demonizing liberalism as socialism.
