A DNC #ValentinesDayMassacre in #SweetHomeAlabama

EYE know it's been a while but I felt compelled to get back in the saddle in light of the recent attempt to overthrow Alabama Democratic Party Chair Nancy Worley and replace her with a white male after a coup engineered by Alabama Senator Doug (DINO) Jones failed.

Longtime incumbent Nancy Worley defeated Montgomery attorney Peck Fox as chair of the Alabama Democratic Party after Sen. Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook) nominated and backed the challenger during the intraparty elections.
Minutes before the meeting, Jones shocked Alabama’s political world by announcing his backing of the leadership coup. Alabama’s junior senator signaled that he wanted change and lamented that the state’s Democratic Party had not helped him enough during his victory over Judge Roy Moore in 2017.

So after the latest "hostile takeover" failed the Sore Losers went whining to the DNC (Democratic National Committee). 

Two challenges were filed saying multiple rules were broken to "stack the deck" in favor of Worley and Vice Chairman Randy Kelley. One challenge notes that 190 votes were cast when only 142 state committee members signed in at the meeting.

What part of the candidate with the most votes wins don't they understand?  But let's be clear, this isn't about broken rules, it's about a segment of whites within the Alabama Democratic Party who don't want to share power with blacks.  They want to dilute what little power African Americans have by diluting the minority caucus.

While I disagree with Dr. Reed on many issues, I do think he has a valid point when he notes that including women in the definition of “minority” in this section would have arguably undesirable consequences. It would put white women – who, due to the racial composition of House districts and the Bylaws, constitute a large number of SDEC seats – in the minority caucus, which was historically designed to insure racial equity. I know most of the proponents of recent Bylaw amendments, and I do not think for an instant that any of them contemplate actions that would make the SDEC unrepresentatively white. But that would be the exact effect of the Shadoin Amendment, in the form in which it was submitted.

When what sounds right is not right (pun intended) 

Just because something sounds like the right thing to do doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Voter ID laws sound like the right thing to do until you look at the motive behind them. The motive behind the so-calleddiversity amendment is to dilute the power of the Alabama Democratic Conference. Links inserted for emphasis.
The Alabama Democratic Conference, formerly known as theBlack Political Caucus of Alabama, was established in 1960. Its leaders were African Americans who wished to encourage all voters, but especially other African Americans, to vote for the democratic candidate, who at the time was John F. Kennedy with vice president Lyndon B. Johnson. The founders of this influential group include Arthur Shores, Rufus Lewis, .Dr. C.G. Gomillion, Q. D. Adams, Isom Clemon, and Beulah Johnson.All of these individuals held respectable positions in their communities and were looked up to by the people, especially by other African Americans.

Axios reported:A source close to the White House tells me that with an eye to getting Republicans excited about voting for Republicans in midterms, the president this year will be looking for “unexpected cultural flashpoints” — like the NFL and kneeling — that he can latch onto in person and on Twitter. The source said Trump “is going to be looking for opportunities to stir up the base, more than focusing on any particular legislation or issue.”

Every Republican and one so-called democratic senator voted to confirm Jeff Sessions as the Attorney General for the United States of America. 

Let that sink in.

For some reason unbeknown to me cable and network news outlets think we the people care about what Meghan McCain has to say about anything or anybody,  EYE mean really?  Other than being the blonde the daughter of a Republican United States Senator what is her claim to fame?  Anyhoo this is what EYE heard she said on #TheVanJonesShow on CNN emphasis mine. 

“I am first to say I’m not a huge Trump supporter, for obvious reasons, but I decided on election night I would be as unemotional as possible in analyzing him and his presidency,” McCain replied. 

“I’ve never been accused of being racist in my entire life until recently, until Trump became president,” she added. “I understand there is a lot of tension in this country that is overheating in a way we have never seen before… and I don’t pretend to understand the experience of minorities in this country.
“But I will say that I have vivid memories of my father being called racist, I have memories of President Bush being called racist, of Mitt Romney, of Jeb Bush… I think it does a disservice to real racism,” McCain said.

“And I think that for me, I want to separate those things and I don’t want that to be thrown around the way it is, and I understand there’s a lot of hurt and a lot of pain right now, but it hurts me when you’re throwing out that I and basically the party I’m in… and it’s as simple as your racist.”

Poor thing.  She doesn't realize there is no separation between her party and racist/racism. In the words of Bill Maher: If you are a racist looking for a party the GOP is the obvious choice.

Own It.

More Republican candidates than ever who are seeking re-election have been using white supremacist slogans, had white supremacists at their government events and granted interviews to racist publications.
Where once we could rely on the fact that these types of people would not ascend to the highest offices in the land, with the installation of President Trump, we now know anything is possible. After all, look at who he has brought with him to the White House. White nationalists such as Steve Bannon, Sebastian Gorka and Stephen Miller are all clear-cut racists who he gave a platform.

EYE know she is young but she has to know her party has a documented history of racist/racism.

Don't be a Chump 

The problem with the continued begging, ‘why won’t he denounce, why won’t he denounce’ is that at some point, maybe later today, President Trump will go before a podium and read off through gritted teeth a pro-forma denunciation of Nazis and it will seem to a lot of people like it means something when it doesn’t. Pence defended Trump’s display of equanimity in blaming the people who stood up to hate and bigotry. After all, Donald Trump didn’t jump to the immediate conclusion that racist, swastika-wearing, Hitler-praising, club-wielding Nazis were the bad guys at Charlottesville.

The capper on the day of the worst racist riot on American soil in generations was when some psychotic little bozo named James Alexander Fields plowed his automobile at full speed into a crowd of hundreds, injuring twenty-seven and killing a young woman named Heather Heyer. To the best of my knowledge, she is the first white woman to be martyred in the name of civil rights since Detroit school teacher Viola Liuzzo was gunned down by the KKK in March of 1965.

As for Trump? "I didn't consider anyone else," Posey says. "I thought, 'That's my guy.' 

EYE wonder how "hard" it was for the most distrusted name in news to find the one black, gay male who claimed they voted for Trump?   Did they advertise or was he referred by someone?  EYE am betting on the latter.  

It's funny what some people will say or do for 15 minutes of infamy.  Someone should tell Quinten Posey former President Bill Clinton is not solely responsible for the mass incarceration of black Americans.  He had lots of help, including the present pResident and #fake Attorney General who wants to bring back the good old days of mass incarceration of black Americans.  

While still short on specific policy changes, Sessions has made it clear that he plans to crack down on drugs and immigration while resuscitating the harsh sentencing laws that have given the United States the world’s highest incarceration rate.

Psst Quintin Posey!  You are black and gay, Trump is NOT your guy. 

At the Department of Justice, where former Attorney General Loretta Lynch last year delivered an impassioned speech telling transgender Americans, “We see you; we stand with you,” her successor, Jeff Sessions, wasted no time reversing course. The Justice Department in February withdrew guidance issued to schools on the treatment of transgender students, signaling that it would no longer consider their rights to be protected under a 1972 civil rights law."

 "I mean, what do we have to lose? Why not try something different?"  Um, THIS is what we have lost Quinton Posey, THIS is what trying something different gets us thanks to the mainstream media for misinforming voters like Y-O-U.

So, it looks like the republican rattlesnakes are beginning to turn on each other now that it's come to light former Alabama Senator and current Attorney General Senator Jeff Session (R. racist Mobile) flat out lied under oath during his confirmation hearing regarding meetings he had with the Russian Ambassador prior to the election.  
Republicans and one so-called democrat didn't have a problem unanimously confirming a racist as the Attorney General but now they have a problem?

EYE wonder if they would have voted to confirm Sessions if they knew then what they know now?  Yeah probably. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions was their go-to guy to promote their racist/sexist/bigoted/corporate agenda.

Before EYE type another word please accept my apologies for the sparse postings.  EYE must admit the "election" of Donald Trump through me for a loop.  EYE was so sure there were more of us than there were of them.  Time will tell  if my faith in the American people is justified.  EYE  still refuse to believe the majority of the American people hate President Obama more than they love their country.  But EYE have my groove back and EYE am fired up and ready to go.  

So, Donald Trump plans to nominate Alabama's own Jefferson Beauregard Sessions as the chief law enforcement officer of the land as payback for his loyalty while giving African Americans, women,  veterans,  and immigrants the middle finger.

Who is Lani Guinier?

Guinier is probably best known as President Bill Clinton's nominee for Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in April 1993.[7][8][9]
President Clinton withdrew his nomination in June 1993, following a wave of negative press that was brought on by her controversial writings, some of which even Clinton himself called "anti-democratic" and "very difficult to defend".[10]
Conservative journalists, as well as Republican Senators, mounted a campaign against Guinier's nomination. Guinier was infamously dubbed a "quota queen," a phrase first used in a Wall Street Journal op-ed by Clint Bolick, a Reagan-era Justice Department official.[11] The term was perceived by some to be racially loaded, combining the "welfare queen" stereotype with "quota," a buzzword used to challenge affirmative action.[12] In fact, Guinier was an opponent of racial quotas.[13]
Some journalists also alleged that Guinier's writings indicated that she supported the shaping of electoral districts to ensure a black majority, a process known as "race-conscious districting." One New York Times opinion piece claimed that Guinier was in favor of "segregating black voters in black-majority districts." President Clinton took the senators' advice and withdrew Guinier's nomination on June 4, 1993. If Lani Guinier was characterized as a racial polarizer and therefore deemed unfit, certainly the same applies to Jeff Sessions. Let's see if republicans and the white male dominated media apply the same standards to Sessions. My guess is they won't because there is more than a whiff of hypocrisy.

I don’t care if you don’t want to hear it. It’s true.
Since the election of President Obama in 2008, the growth of race-based hate groups has exploded. The hateful rhetoric surrounding racial discussions is at an all-time high, and much of that is due to the very purposeful division of this country by conservative groups.
They have spent the last eight years convincing many of those stupid white people I mentioned above that Obama was plotting to steal their hard earned money and turn it over to the black people so they can buy spinning rims and lobster with food stamps. Through Fox News, dozens of fake-news websites and hundreds of conservative talking heads on radio, they have spread a message of fear and anger to a group of people who took the bait and swallowed it.

EYE still believe in a place called HOPE and EYE HOPE democrats and like minded republicans have the courage to do the right thing for once.

For diehard Democrats holding out hope that they won’t have to live through a Donald Trump presidency, there is a last, incredibly long shot for them latch onto — a surprise twist in the Electoral College.
Though Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 200,000, Trump has won the minimum of 270 electoral votes necessary to be elected president. As of late Wednesday, he had 290 to Clinton’s 228.
According to the Constitution, chosen electors of the Electoral College are the real people who will vote for president, when they meet on Dec. 19 in their respective state capitals.
However, there is nothing stopping any of the electors from refusing to support the candidate to whom they were bound or abstaining from voting.
There’s even a name for it: becoming a “faithless elector.”

If there is a silver lining in this fiasco it's that Trump has brought us all together, black, white, red, yellow, brown, men, women, young, old, Jews and Gentiles, rich, poor, gay straight with the common bond Trump is #NotMyPresident the pictorial, which you won't see reported in the mainstream U.S. media because it doesn't fit their false narrative that the system worked.

Racism:  A Clear and Present Danger

EYE repeat, the election of President Barack Hussein Obama defined the United States of America for who/what we really are. The debate last night was an EYE opening moment, a clear and present danger,  enabled by the white male dominated media.

EYE am saddened HOPE for Change we Can Believe In has descended to a new low of ugliness and buffoonery.  And they wonder why Colin Kaepernick and others are refusing to stand for the National Anthem?  The mere fact Donald Trump is the republican nominee for President of the United States of America is Shocking and Shameful.

Allegiance: To a Song, Flag or Our American Ideals?

Colin Kaepernick said: "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color," Kaepernick told Steve Wyche of NFL Media. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.

There are bodies in the street and people getting away with murder." The biracial athlete, adopted and raised by white parents, has become an outspoken supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement." 
As an honorably discharged Army veteran (if I need to establish my credibility to speak on this) my opinion is that Colin is simply protesting the repeated daily dangers, including murders, facing civilians from police officers. I don't know how I could reject that sentiment, or undermine the American righteousness of Colin's protest.

Almost 70% of the NFL players are black. Imagine the statement they would make this season if they remained seated during the National Anthem. Worldwide, there are an estimated 400 million American football fans - imagine the impact!

It's a difficult choice, as Myke Tavarres, the Philly Eagles rookie free agent, realized.

"Really, what's at stake is my pride and what kind of man would I be and what kind of African-American would I be if I didn't stand my ground on this issue we have today."

It wasn't easier for Josh Earnest, speaking for President Obama. 

"What I can say is that I certainly don't share the views that Mr. Kaepernick expressed after the game in explaining his reasoning for his actions," Earnest, the White House's top spokesman, said."

It sounds like more divisiveness from a white man parsing words instead of listening for and hearing the authentic message. Actually, his position statement sounds at odds with his boss's, when President Obama spoke about two police-involved shootings in July.

"When incidents like these occur, there's a big chunk of our fellow citizens that feels as if because of the color of their skin, they are not treated the same - and that hurts," Obama said, ... "And that should trouble all of us. This is not a black issue. It's not just a Hispanic issue. This is an American issue that we should all care about."

The national anthem was penned during an 1814 battle, but its most poignant and, in this case, applicable stanza to this controversy was penned by Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Down, down with the traitor that dares to defile
the flag of her stars and the page of her story!
By the millions unchained who our birthright have gained,

"Yes, Kaepernick is an American success story, but that shouldn't cause him to shrug off what he recognizes as injustice. Rather, it gives him a chance to speak about an issue that many don't have the platform to address. There are large segments of the population who feel the police are both empowered and immune to prosecution for their misdeeds. There are people who live in fear, every day, that they will be shot and killed for a broken taillight simply because they are black. For those people, America is not the "land of the free."

It is a place where a 12-year-old boy in Cleveland can be fatally shot outside a rec center because someone deemed him menacing. It's a place where a citizen vigilante can pursue a teenager for the crime of wearing a hoodie. It's a place where one false move - or no false move - carries a deadly risk. For many of us, the American flag is reassurance that we will be protected. In the minds of others, that flag offers no such guarantees. Those are truths that some hold to be self-evident, even if they are hard for the majority to see. If the rich and famous do not shine a light to that inconsistency, who will?"

I don't support Colin grudgingly, but rather with pride, for he speaks to the highest ideals our nation espouses, and has yet to fulfill, to all its citizens, regardless. Blacks and people of color may be "unchained" but each day they face lives filled with the abject possibility of being harassed, ostracized, injured and murdered by police, secure in the conspiracy of silence among the thin blue line.

So when a man protests the inequality of oppression of those who are forced to exist without the birthright promise of America, it is my duty and my honor to support him.

Colin Kaepernick, like millions of people all over this country, has had enough. I've had enough. Everybody I know and love has had enough. If you don't know what we've had enough of, you are probably white and probably live in a bubble that has protected you not only from the injustice, but even from the news of its harsh reality.

EYE have been feeling some kind of way about the Star Spangled Banner and the Pledge of Allegiance for some time now.

EYE guess The Donald's newly hired Negro Whisperers advised him to appear before majority white audiences to woo African-American voters, and advised the white male-dominated mainstream media to ask all white people all the time how that's working out for him.  RedEye Roll

EYE am convinced The Donald and his media enablers are either totally ignorant, or they think African American are  stupid.  EYE can't believe he has the nerve to talk at (not to ) African Americans and ask what do you have to lose by voting for me?

"You're living in poverty, your schools are no good. You have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed, what the hell do you have to lose?" he added in the overwhelmingly white town of Diamondale.
The Republican presidential nominee also guaranteed, if elected, he would win "over" 95 percent of black voters in a potential reelection campaign in 2020.
Trump argued that he would be a better candidate for African American issues compared to his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
"Hillary Clinton would rather provide a job to a refugee from overseas than to give that job to unemployed African-American youth in cities like Detroit — who have become refugees in their own country," he told the stuffy room.

Let me count what African Americans have to lose by voting for you Donald.  Starting with our lives.



Then there is the right to vote.  Donald Trump has promised all of his right wing supporters he's going to appoint Khristian Konservatives to the Supreme Court for life, who will roll back civil rights, and make it even harder for minorities to vote.  In addition to upholding all types of discrimination in regards to housing, employment, education and privatize Social Security.

Then there is access to quality affordable health care.  Trump believes on the rich should have access to health care.

So EYE am just going to leave this right here...

As of the 2000 census, the Diamondale, MI community (where Trump spoke) is 92.7% White.  Less than 1% (0.7%) African American.  So what the African American community and other citizens of color have to lose, is the opportunity to correct the injustices you described, created by the 92.7%

African Americans voting for Trump would be like Turkey's voting for Thanksgiving.

Ashley Bell, who eight years ago appeared on stage at the Democratic National Convention, was named national director of African American political engagement for the RNC. Shannon Reeves, a political science professor at Alabama A&M University, will provide statistical and data assistance to help the party identify black voters. Elroy Sailor, a former aide to former congressman J.C. Watts (R-Okla.) and who worked on Sen. Rand Paul's presidential campaign, will offer statistical and political guidance to the party.

Who is Shannon Reeves?  He was a democrat before he was a republican too.

Good luck with that trying to get African American voters to vote for a racist/sexist/bigot. 

Perhaps because he’s now taking aim at an individual American citizen, Donald Trump’s attacks on U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s Mexican heritage finally made it impossible to rationalize away the fundamentally racist nature of his campaign.

Republicans have tried, in part by squinting hard, to view his plans to raise a wall across the Mexican border and to ban Muslims from entering the country—which Trump doubled down on following the tragic events in Orlando—as policies focused on security, rather than group identity.

Psst Negro Whispers!  African American voters are not going to fall for the Rope a Dope.  So, count your cheese and go home. 

Last week’s AJC poll showed Democrat Hillary Clinton with a slim lead over Republican Donald Trump in the state. Clinton had the support of 87 percent of African-Americans polled. Trump had the support of 2 percent of black voters.
