Why African Americans are on FIRE for Bernie Sanders

On the heels of the announcement that there will be no indictment, and so, no trial in the murder of Tamir Rice, a 12 year old boy shot literally within a second of police officers arriving on the playground, Bernie Sanders called for a federal investigation. He acknowledged police officers have an "impossible job" and went on to say that "as a nation, we have got to recognize that lethal force should be the last response, not the first response - and we're seeing too much, I think, [shootings] in this country."

Writing on his Facebook page, Robert D. Wilson succinctly summarized our tragic circumstances which amount to a reign of terrorism against entire segments of our national body politic.

"White cops nationally are getting away with murder. White lynch mobs with free passes.

Bernie Sanders calls for what should have been done already, a federal probe. Only Bernie seems to give a damn. It is not safe to be Black in America, thanks to the racism displayed by the Republican politicians toward OUR President."

There it is: in retaliation for the people's choice in electing and re-electing President Barack Hussein Obama, we must pay with murderous injustices perpetrated by the very institution charged "to protect and serve" our communities.

Bernie Sanders addresses five areas of racial violence waged against black, brown and indigenous Americans: physical, political, legal, economic and environmental.

Before detailing actions he proposes to take in each of the five areas Senator Sanders wrote:

"We are far from eradicating racism in this country. Today in America, if you are black, you can be killed for getting a pack of Skittles during a basketball game. Or murdered in your church while you are praying. This violence fills us with outrage, disgust and a deep, deep sadness. These hateful acts of violence amount to acts of terror. They are perpetrated by extremists who want to intimidate and terrorize black, brown and indigenous people in this country."

At his packed, rousing rallies, he describes systemic abuses on issue after issue. After each, Bernie regularly intones: "Enough is enough is enough!"

Then he reminds us that "When we stand together, there is nothing we can not accomplish!"

There's barely a month before the primary season begins in earnest, and there are so many things to do. If you want to be part of this peaceful, political revolution, we Bernie supporters welcome you to volunteer.

The Media enabled #GOPChickens are ducking and dodging #DonaldTrump, but it's too little, much too late

Wilmer Leon
“… like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them…each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Senator Barak Obama April 6, 2008
“A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year. If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen.” Senator Barak Obama May 22, 2008
You reap...
In its despair and confusion, a large segment of the American populace is prepared to believe anything it’s told, in part because we are a country less and less educated, increasingly unable to tell fact from fiction because we are so unschooled in basic essential knowledge about America and the world.
What you sow..
Donald Trump is standing on a platform of hate that the Republican Party built for him.
Trump’s proposal to bar Muslims from entering this country is hateful, despicable and vile. His statement is a slap in the face to the millions of peace-loving Muslims living here and to those who want to travel and live here.
This sort of racism has been prevalent in Republican politics for decades. Trump is just saying out loud what other Republicans merely suggest.
This is who and what they are.
This is how ALL blacks were transformed into welfare recipients, a whole group of people looking for handouts, although that was a myth. Nope, I take that back it was an outright lie! Images of black women was the old “welfare queen” trick used by Ronald Reagan to drum up negative opinions and attack black women, attaching a negative stigma to them in the process. But more so Reagan used it to stir up negative sentiments towards poor people, which resulted in selfishness and cold heartedness in the charity department. Yup, they want to eliminate help for the poor. It works every time.
Is this who they will always be?
"One of the things we can't do is, we can't let them distract from what we're all about, and what we're trying to accomplish. We're trying to keep the focus on comprehensive, universal health care reform, and they're going all over the place. They are desperate, uh, they don't have leadership, uh, they really don't know what to do, and so, I think we're going to continue to see a lot of crazy things happening, like all of the, uh, outrage that has been demonstrated at these town hall meetings, like the kind of statement that Congresswoman Jenkins made, and let them define themselves, let them reveal who they are. The American public needs to see that."~Representative Maxine Waters (D.CA)

Time will tell the truth
Cooper asked Sanders what evidence he had that the Republican opponents would take Alabama back to Jim Crow days. Sanders said, "Well, there's a certain mean spiritness that's out there, not only in Alabama but it's in America. And that makes this election extremely important."

Update: Dothan, Alabama Whistle Blower Allegations are "Outright Lies"

Police Chief Parrish apparently released a statement today saying the blogger has an agenda and that the documents, while appearing to be official, were redacted by the blogger to promote that agenda.
He also confirmed he had started the Confederate non-profit in which he was pictured, stating:

“I am a history enthusiast,” Parrish said. “My ancestors fought for the South during the Civil War, and I’m proud of it.”
Parrish said in 1999 and 2000 he started a local chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Nothing to see here.
White said he has already sent Carroll a certified letter demanding a retraction to a post the Henry County Report made recently, which involved accusations against law enforcement in the unsolved murders of Tracie Hawlett and J.B. Beasley in Ozark. White said he represents several of the law enforcement officers accused of wrongdoing in the report posted by Carroll.

“I sent them a certified letter giving them notice to post a retraction in the same manner that they published the defamatory information,” White said. “If they fail to do so we will proceed with a civil suit.”

White said he plans to file a similar certified letter on his own behalf in regard to the report posted on the blog this week alleging public corruption by Dothan police.

White said he had reporters from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, among others, contact him Wednesday about the validity of the blog post.

“They’re professional journalists and they called me to find out if there is any basis and fact, they’re doing their job just like he should’ve done,” White said. “I’ve had no one come forward and make an official complaint to be investigated regarding the planting of drugs or evidence. When there was rumor and anonymous complaints made as such they were investigated, later determined to be unfounded. I wouldn’t let any subversive conduct on the part of my staff or myself taint my honesty, integrity and law enforcement legacy which is really the only thing I can leave my sons.”
Stay tuned.

#ShockAndAwe: "Whistle blower cops reveal decades of planting guns and drugs on innocent blacks"

Carlton Ott, Clark Rice, Steve Hamm, Steve Parrish, David Jay, Michael Magrino, Dewayne Herring, Andy Hughes, Gary Coleman, and Scott Smith
#SweetHomeAlabama!
The Fear is real.
The Alabama Justice Project has obtained documents that reveal a Dothan Police Department’s Internal Affairs investigation was covered up by the district attorney. A group of up to a dozen police officers on a specialized narcotics team were found to have planted drugs and weapons on young black men for years. They were supervised at the time by Lt. Steve Parrish, current Dothan Police Chief, and Sgt. Andy Hughes, current Asst. Director of Homeland Security for the State of Alabama. All of the officers reportedly were members of a Neoconfederate organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center labels “racial extremists.” The group has advocated for blacks to return to Africa, published that the civil rights movement is really a Jewish conspiracy, and that blacks have lower IQ’s . Both Parrish and Hughes held leadership positions in the group and are pictured above holding a confederate battle flag at one of the club’s secret meetings.
"Look away..look away."
Carroll reports that other Dothan police officers filed anonymous complaints with the city manager’s office and police commission in this isolated city of 66,000 people. However, the ensuing investigation apparently went nowhere, prompting them to write an anonymous letter to the region’s U.S. attorney in 2004. The officers, frustated that nothing came of the internal police investigations, provided copies of their letters and other police memos documenting the arrests, allegations and apparent cover-up, Carroll said.
 Look. Away. Dixieland
RoadSnacks.net labeled Dothan “the most redneck city in the entire state of Alabama,” saying it “has the most places to buy guns and ammo and the most number of stores to buy fishing gear per capita in the entire state.” It is not surprising that the top photograph accompanying Carroll’s report showed many of the accused renegade white police officers posing behind a Confederate flag.
We can't even vote them out because Obama..
In 2016, the U.S. will hold the first presidential election in 50 years without the full protections of the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965 — and thousands of voters in the South will face new barriers to voting. That's because states and counties previously covered under the VRA's preclearance provision requiring federal approval for voting changes were released from those requirements following the Supreme Court's 2013 decision in Shelby County v. Holder.

Update~ #AllLivesMatter My Donkey #KeepingItReal

It's official.  EYE am scared.  Not of Isis, Al Queda, the Taliban, so called illegal immigrants, or Syrian Refugees.  Nope.   EYE am scared of the people who hate us for our freedom and their enablers.

Photo published for 5 people shot at Black Lives Matter protest in Minneapolis
Five People Shot at Black Lives Matter Protest in Minneapolis http://bit.ly/1R47sFt

EYE knew this day was coming.  We (African Americans) are being terrorized, treated like illegal immigrants in our own county.  A country that was built on the backs of our labor.
They called me n*****, monkey, and they shouted ‘all lives matter’ while they were kicking and punching me.
This is what happens when the white, male dominated, mainstream media ,enables lies, demagoguery, and negative racial stereotypes, under the guise of being fair and balanced.  Eye HOPE they are happy because this blood is on their hands
The demonstrators have criticized the police response to Monday night’s shooting on Twitter, saying officers staged outside of the scene for several minutes before coming to the aid of the gunshot victims. They also say officers maced protesters who were filming them.
Decoding the Code Words
“It was just a sea of white faces,” he told Think Progress. “A lady kicked me in the stomach. A man kicked me in the chest. They called me n*****, monkey, and they shouted ‘all lives matter’ while they were kicking and punching me. So for all the people who are still confused at this point, they proved what ‘all lives matter’ meant. It means, ‘Shut up, n*****.'”
B-But it's not Terrorism
I chose Charleston because it is most historic city in my state, and at one time had the highest ratio of blacks to Whites in the country. We have no skinheads, no real KKK, no one doing anything but talking on the internet. Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me.
Time will tell the truth
After all, a show needs an audience. And the GOP and their supporters have given Trump an audience for far too long. It is time that they step up and stop indulging this dog and pony show. If Donald Trump truly represents the GOP, then they need to consider changing their name to the Nazi party because it would mean that they are trying to elect the next Hitler to power.

If he does not represent the true nature of the GOP, then they need to speak up because right now they are allowing Trump to define who they are.
Does Donald Trump intend to Make America Great Again by bringing back Slavery?
People can sit back thinking that it will never happen, but think about this, it happened after Reconstruction and there were those who thought the same thing. People it is time to stand up and say ENOUGH! Skip the empty apologies.

EYE understand the fear #AYearWithoutTamir #JordanDavis #EricGarner #MikeBrown #JFK

EYE was in the second grade on 11.22.1963 when the principal announced over the intercom President Kennedy had been shot. I didn't find out he died until I got home. The days that followed were very sad, I remember feeling sorry for Carolyn, John John, and Jackie Kennedy. I also remember being  afraid for the leaders who tried to help African Americans. Sure enough, then came the assassinations of Martin Luther King,Jr, and Robert Kennedy

My ancestors lived through 400 years of torture/slavery, my generation lived through domestic terrorism/Jim Crow, my children are living through Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell, Oscar Grant, Jordan Russell Davis,Renisha McBride and other victims of senseless violence.

First Donald Trump came for the Muslims
The GOP is at a crossroads that will define its party for years. They can nominate Trump, a man who has demonized American minority groups, or choose someone who truly embraces American values. But if Trump is the Republican presidential nominee in 2016, they will have made it clear to America that the Grand Old Party is no longer the party of Lincoln, but the party of hate.
You think?

EYE understand the fear in #SweetHomeAlabama #DonaldTrumpSupporters vs #BlackLivesMatterBirmingham Edition

Mercutio Southall was arrested in April 2015 during a protest in front of Birmingham police headquarters on First Avenue North. (Carol Robinson)
Remember what GOP presidential front runner Donald Trump said would happen if #BlackLivesMatter protesters dared try to shut him down?

I don’t know if I’ll do the fighting myself or if other people will.
Well now we know... other people will do the fighting for him.
Trump supporters — yes, the same crowd that attracts “White Power Rangers” in droves — finally had an opportunity to do what they all secretly want to do anyway: beat up a black guy. At a campaign event in Birmingham, Alabama, a city with a long history of racism, discrimination, and violence against minorities, an African-American man became too disruptive for Trump’s liking, so the billionaire screamed “Get him the hell out of here.”
EYE thought Governor Bentley said it was his responsibility to protect us?
Trump, the front-running Republican presidential candidate, had Southall thrown out. Secret Service agents and Birmingham police escorted Southall from the room. "They were trying to protect them from me and I was like, 'where were you when they were attacking me and choking me?" he said.
Southall said he was repeatedly called a "n****r" and "monkey" and told his life doesn't matter. It's nothing new to him. "When I wake up in the morning, I pretty much expect trouble,'' he said. "We're not the Negros from the 60s. I believe in defending myself, defending my people and sticking up for my people."
"I'm not violent. I'm not out threatening to blow up people,'' he said. "Self-preservation is an instinct every creature has and we deserve respect."
Nope, Mr. Southall, Donald Trump said you got what you deserved, and it wasn't r-e-s-p-e-c-t.
Trump was asked to weigh in on his supporters’ actions on Fox & Friends Sunday morning. “Maybe he should have been roughed up,” he said. “It was disgusting what he was doing.”
The Republican frontrunner compared what happened at his rally to a Black Lives Matter protest at a Bernie Sanders event, which prompted the Democratic candidate to release a detailed racial justice plan. “This is not the way Bernie Sanders handled his problem, I will tell you, but I have a lot of fans and they were not happy about it. And this was a very obnoxious guy, a troublemaker, looking to make trouble,” Trump said.

AL.com captured a video of Southall flipping off the crowd while being led out of the building by police, but they didn't capture a video of Southall being attacked by trump supporters. Typical case of the media turning the victim into the criminal.

EYE understand the fear in Sweet Home Alabama.  Maybe they should change the slogan from Alabama the Beautiful to something else.....

Saturday, November 21, 2015

Congressman (sic) Mo "anything short of shooting illegals" Brooks is making #SweetHomeAlabama proud again.

Not.  It ought to be against the law to use the public airways to spew hatred, bigotry, and misinformation, but it's not, so Alabama's CD 5 Congress Critter Mo Brooks went there when he made an appearance on Radio Boy's show.
"We’re paying them about $15,000 a year in free health care, free food, free shelter, free clothing, free transportation,” Brooks said. “That answers very quickly why so many of them want to come to the United States of America.”
“We’re paying them to come here,” the Alabama congressman concluded. “It’s a paid vacation!”
Yep,  Mo used the public airways to misinform the uniformed, and turn the victims into criminals.
Instead of viewing refugees as people fleeing the violence that has claimed more than 200,000 lives, Brooks saw a host of incoming welfare queens intent on taking advantage of Americans’ generosity.
Psst Mo!  Sweet Home Alabama is the last place Syrian Refugees would want to "vacation".  They are trying to flee violence and despair.
Thousands of civilians have been victims of mass shootings and gunfire between government forces and insurgents. In one case documented by the United Nations, more than 100 people, including at least 49 children, were killed in Homs on May 25, 2012. Most were shot at close range.
The U.N. reports that armed opposition groups have also executed children, but lack of access in areas controlled by the Islamic State has prevented systematic documentation. “In places like Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, it’s almost impossible to verify the information,” said Bassam al-Ahmad, spokesman for the Violation Documentation Center in Syria.
What is most troubling to me is the fact Mo Brooks is an elected official, and has been most of his adult life.  For an elected official to have this point of view is dangerous, because he also has to the power to act on his beliefs.
In its essence, racism is culturally sanctioned strategies that defend the advantages of power, privilege and prestige which "Whites have because of the subordinated position of racial minorities." This deliberate political, economical, religious and sociocultural structuring of privilege, does not take place in some moral vacuum. It has behind it the moral force of an ideology of supremacy, an ill-will that claims racial superiority and pride of position. By ideology I mean a system of ideas and beliefs about the universe, to which a people adhere in order to justify their attitudes and actions. This ideology can have a religious or a scientific basis, depending on which one shapes our worldview. Nevertheless the outcome is the same, where one group benefits and the other does not.
They say parents are the first teachers, so I have to assume Mo Brooks was raised with this point of view, and he raised his children with this point of view, and they are raising their children with this point of view, and that it will go on, and on, and onSigh

We can't stop people from being racist, but we damn well can stop electing them to office.   The only problem is finding someone to vote for.  Surely there are more people of good will than there are of... them.

EYE hope all  of you so called democrats/moderates/Independents/progressives, or what ever you want to call yourselves who didn't vote because your candidate lost are happy now.

EYE hope all you democrats etc. who spent more time fighting each other instead of fighting the republicans are happy now.

Don't blame me. EYE voted a straight democratic ticket.  But EYE won't be making that mistake again.  EYE will not vote for any DINO's (Democrats in name only).

You are either for the democratic party agenda.  All of it.  Or, you are against the democratic party agenda.

EYE Understand the Fear

11-18StatueBentleyFear.jpg
Alabama is number one, y'all. Gov. Bentley was the first to step up and declare our great state the last place on earth the Syrian refugees are welcome.

Uh, would someone please tell these elected *cough cough* officials the Federal Government is the largest employer in the state of Alabama, and,  Sweet Home Alabama get's more FEDERAL dollars than any state in the UNION?  EYE mean, really, what are they thinking? Talking about biting off your nose to spite your face.
Congress should use the power of the purse to prevent the president from pursuing his plan to resettle Syrian refugees in the United States, Alabama's two Republican senators said Tuesday.
Maybe there is a method to their madness, but don't say anything when the President of the United States of America uses his executive power and his veto pen as the big payback

EYE understand the politics of fear and loathing

Really EYE do.

EYE... live with it every day of my life.

Welcome to  my

Governor Bentley: We need to protect people of our state from them there refugees

suresh6.jpg
#PatelAlabama: Governor apologizes to the government of India for Alabama police treating one of their citizens like "a skinny black man"
Just in case you missed it, our Governor was interviewed on CNN this morning pontificating about his stand on the state line to keep Alabamans safe from them there Muslims, EYE mean, Syrian refugees.  He really didn't have a good reason to offer, so he named dropped that he was with Condolezza Rice yesterdaywho allegedly told him Syria should set up a refugee camp over there to contain them.

This is the same Condolezza Rice who was the National Security Advisor that gave pResident George W. Bush a daily briefing one month prior to the 9/11 attacks that said Osama determined to attack inside the U.S. and didn't know what that meant.  The same Condolezza Rice who was the Secretary of State before, during and after Hurricane Katrina.

Governor Bentley also name dropped the director of Homeland Security, and the FBI, both of which are federal agencies, as in the federal government, as in the federal government he plans to obstruct and defy in order to keep Alabamans safe from them there refugees.  The same federal government that is the largest employer in Sweet Home Alabama.

More Alabamians have died from guns, natural disasters, and because they don't have access to quality affordable health care than from Muslims, EYE mean, refugees.  But don't let a little thing like facts get in the way of bigotry in the name of The Lord.  Our Governor kept saying he was at war with his heart and his head, and his head was winning.  As someone who claims to be a Christian doesn't he realize baby Jesus and His parents were refugees?

EYE wish the citizens of Alabama had somewhere to run.

To make the irony more explicit, Bentley will be joined at the conference with the Japanese by Martin Luther King III. An Alabama Governor is meeting with the Japanese – a population that America once forcibly detained for fear of the color of their skin – and is accompanied by the son of a man who Alabama once detained for fear of the color of his skin. The only thing that could make it more ironic would be if they convened in Huntsville, a city that prospered as the result of Alabama welcoming German scientists in the wake of World War II.

Monday, November 16, 2015

Psst Governor Bentley! There's a problem with your stand on the state line to refuse Syrian refugees...

You can't
Just in case there is any doubt, President Obama has explicit statutory authorization to accept foreign refugees into the United States. Under the Refugee Act of 1980, the president may admit refugees who face “persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion” into the United States, and the president’s power to do so is particularly robust if they determine that an “unforeseen emergency refugee situation” such as the Syrian refugee crisis exists.

Despite popular and uniformed opinion, Alabama is still a part of the United States of America.  Sir.
The problem for Jindal, Abbott and the other governors opposed to admitting refugees, however, is that there is no lawful means that permits a state government to dictate immigration policy to the president in this way. As the Supreme Court explained in Hines v. Davidowitz, “the supremacy of the national power in the general field of foreign affairs, including power over immigration, naturalization and deportation, is made clear by the Constitution.” States do not get to overrule the federal government on matters such as this one.
Cartoon by J.D. Crowe - Alabama immigration law
Editorial Carton for Alabama Media Group by J.D.Crowe
You can take a whole row of seats now.

EYE Don't Think #SweetHomeAlabama is on any refugees' list of desired destinations

A Syrian refugee family is seen on a beach moments after arriving on a raft on the Greek island of Lesbos, November 10, 2015. Since the start of the year, over 590,000 people have crossed into Greece, the frontline of a massive westward population shift f
Go away, kids. Alabama is too scared of you.
So, here we go again.  You know the drill.  Make Alabama proud by inflaming fear and bigotry in the name of The Lord.
Charming, just charming. Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has hit on a way to posture about the Paris terrorist attacks that feeds right into a whole bunch of the worst stereotypes about his state. Bentley “will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm’s way,” which is to say he has announced he’s refusing to host Syrian refugees in his state. You know, the Syrian refugees fleeing daily violence as bad as or worse than the Paris attacks.
Yep. This is the same Governor who places the citizens of Alabama in harm's way everyday because Obama.
Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley used part of his State of the State Address on Tuesday to offer a full-throated defense of his decision to reject Medicaid expansion, one of the key components of President Barack Obama’s health care law.
Under the Affordable Care Act, the federal government will pay 100 percent of the cost of expansion for the first three years and then 90 percent after that.
“But how can we believe the federal government will keep its word?” said Bentley, one of a number of governors who took advantage of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling to turn down the deal. “The anything but Affordable Care Act has done nothing to gain our trust.”
EYE wonder if the Syrian Refugees could play football would they be welcome in #SweetHomeAlabama?

So much for Christian...Conservative... Compassion in Sweet Home Alabama

EYE am just saying... there is more than a whiff of hypocrisy.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

"Racism shouldn't be a part of college campus culture"

OK, it's official.  Recent events have shown us they hate us for our freedom, but the question is why? What could we have possibly done to deserve such...hatred?  There was a time EYE believed the old, die heart racist would well....die, but they aren't dying, they are multiplying, breeding a new generation of Haters.

Please read this article and take about 4 minutes to watch the video produced by University of Alabama Students about racism and being called the N-word on campus.  At last count there were 1823 comments posted, most of them by white conservatives.  Read them too.

Then read a letter from a Virginia teen as he details daily racial abuse he faces in middle school.

"What happened at #Mizzou was not a matter of mere insensitivity. "

These were terrorist acts, meant to silence and intimidate
Over the past several years black students at Mizzou were repeatedly called racist names to their faces, the grounds of the school's Black Culture Center were covered with cotton balls, the center was the target of arson threats, a black professor was spat at and called names by a white man flying a confederate flag from his truck, and a dormitory wall was decorated with feces in the shape of a swastika.
What it feels like to be black at Mizzou
“If we aren’t scoring touchdowns, the university does not care about us,” said Jorden Giger, a first-year graduate student at Mizzou who stayed home from classes Wednesday. “We are either despised or tokenized and treated as property.”

B-But Obama
Our technology has improved and our haircuts have changed, but racism is as ugly as ever in modern America. While our black president nears the end of his second term, we’re wrong to think his election was even a small hint at racial progress. More than 65 million people voted for President Obama in 2012, but we’re fooling ourselves if we think casual racists or white supremacists were in that number.
It's the white, male dominated media.
In many communities that historically have been marginalized and unfairly portrayed by the media, there’s good reason why people do not trust journalists. There’s a tendency in news media to criminalize black people’s pain and resistance to racial oppression. We saw it in coverage of Ferguson and Baltimore, when news stations provided more coverage of broken windows in their communities than of black pain.
The unfair portrayal of black people in the news media is well documented. In one study analyzing news coverage by 26 local television stations, black people were rarely portrayed unless they had committed a crime. A 2015 University of Houstonstudy found that this imbalanced coverage may lead viewers to develop racial bias against black people because it often over-represents them in crime rates.
