EYE understand the fear #AYearWithoutTamir #JordanDavis #EricGarner #MikeBrown #JFK

EYE was in the second grade on 11.22.1963 when the principal announced over the intercom President Kennedy had been shot. I didn't find out he died until I got home. The days that followed were very sad, I remember feeling sorry for Carolyn, John John, and Jackie Kennedy. I also remember being  afraid for the leaders who tried to help African Americans. Sure enough, then came the assassinations of Martin Luther King,Jr, and Robert Kennedy

My ancestors lived through 400 years of torture/slavery, my generation lived through domestic terrorism/Jim Crow, my children are living through Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell, Oscar Grant, Jordan Russell Davis,Renisha McBride and other victims of senseless violence.

First Donald Trump came for the Muslims
The GOP is at a crossroads that will define its party for years. They can nominate Trump, a man who has demonized American minority groups, or choose someone who truly embraces American values. But if Trump is the Republican presidential nominee in 2016, they will have made it clear to America that the Grand Old Party is no longer the party of Lincoln, but the party of hate.
You think?

#AllLivesMatter My Donkey

People march, block highways and stage die-ins—in the face of militarization.
Ferguson residents staged mostly peaceful marches in response to Michael Brown’s killing in August. Local and state authorities responded with a militarized use of force, using tanks, tear gas and flash grenades on protestors. People around the country, and eventually around the world, held demonstrations that included die-ins and the shut-down of major highways. (Scott Olsen/Getty)

In June 1963, President Kennedy promoted civil rights as the governor of Alabama blocked integration of the University of Alabama.
“Today, we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free,” the president said in a speech. “And when Americans are sent to Vietnam or West Berlin, we do not ask for whites only.”
Will we ever live in the land of liberty and justice for all, or is it just a slogan?  Time will tell the truth.

Veteran's Day Witnesses War on Freedom and the Constitution

This Veterans Day remember, on average, at least 22 Vets commit suicide daily. America doesn’t do enough for our returning Vets and it’s not getting better. That is wrong on every level. And it disgusts me. The VA report can color it however they want…it’s still wrong that more Vets die by their own hand than in Afghanistan. They are the invisible casualties of war.

Legal Schnauzer: Bleak Veteran's Day Witnesses War on Constitution in Legal Schnauzer First Amendment Case: There is a war being waged on the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights by the rich, powerful, well-connected and corrupt. And the travesty involved in the Legal Schnauzer first amendment case is on the front lines of that war. Police brutality, prior restraint, unlawful search and seizure, police harassment, denial of due process, false arrest and malicious prosecution, as well as, suppression of free speech and freedom of the press--our civil liberties are currently under assault.

Justice for Renisha McBride! Justice for Trayvon Martin! Justice for Jonathan Ferrell! Justice for Jordan Davis! We must end all forms of racial profiling and racial violence. We must repeal Stand Your Ground laws.

Why MORE Black People Need to say F^*k THE POLICE We want the police to quit STOPPING and FRISKING us at every single turn just because of the melanin in our skin, and prosecuting us at rates unseen in other communities.

Seriously. This is not fair.
We want the police to stop using citizens to feed America’s prison industrial complex, and actually help us build and patrol our less advantaged communities without making us all culprits.

Tweet of the Week & RedEye's Week in Review

Fellow blogger Rodger Shuler, aka Legal Schnauzer, is still behind bars in the Shelby County, Alabama jail for being the kind of journalist we wish we had instead of the kind of journalist we have.  But then again, seeing how being the kind of journalist we wish had lands them in jail, we can understand why we have the kind of journalist we have.  According to Rodgers wife Carol lots of organizations are stepping up to help so hopefully we will see and hear from Rodger Shuler again, but then again this is AmeriBama.

What's that you say?  President Obama hates the Congressional Black Caucus just as much as he hates the Tea Party?  I'm shocked Shocked I tell you.   Not.

The mainstream media and the Talking TeeVee Pundit Heads are calling President Obama a liar and making him apologize because he said he had proof of tons and tons of WMD in Iraq and Saddam was about to use them on us.

If you are a black person in America  and you happen to find yourself in danger, do not go to a random white person for help. Especially if you have to go to their home. You are better off taking your chances with the elements.  It is open season on black people in America.

RedEye over and out for now.
