EYE blame the white male dominated media for this #HotMess

A study from Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center provides overwhelming evidence that the mainstream media were instrumental in electing Donald Trump. 

The mainstream media’s stubborn refusal to admit culpability in Trump’s election is curious, considering a number of prominent journalists are on record conceding broad-based antagonism toward Clinton in the press.

As far back as 2014, Chuck Todd said, “I don’t think the country has Clinton fatigue. I think the media has Clinton fatigue. You can sort of feel it.”

In the summer of 2015, Jonathan Allen explained the Clinton Rules: “The Clinton rules are driven by reporters’ and editors’ desire to score the ultimate prize in contemporary journalism: the scoop that brings down Hillary Clinton and her family’s political empire.”

In 2016, Mark Halperin admitted that “there’s a deep well of anti-Clinton sentiment in the press.”

It's the white male dominated media.

For those who have been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, Donald J. tRump jetted into the Rocket City, not to be confused with Rocket Man and made #SweetHomeAlabama proud to be in America.  Not.

The president's rambling speech lasted nearly 90 minutes. He repeatedly cursed, mocked the leader of North Korea, jokingly threatened to fire a Cabinet member who endorsed Moore, called on professional football team owners to fire players who kneel during the national anthem, promised to build a new “see-through wall” on the southern border, called allegations of Russian interference in the election a “hoax,” accused unions of protecting “sadists” who abuse elderly veterans, and repeatedly relived the 2016 election.

 

The taxpayer-funded campaign rally would have been whites only if not for the two black males in the background.  There is a rumor circulating on Facebook that some people who showed up for the Strange/Tump rally were paid but EYE digress. 

One thing for sure is the fact Trumpster lied when he said thousands were watching outside on because they couldn't get inside the Von Braun Civic Center.  EYE think he confused protesters with supporters.

The most #deplorable highlight of the rally was when 4.5 called the mothers of #NFL players protesting against police brutality and oppression female dogs.  EYE guess the mothers of the eight-year-old ballplayers in the photo above are B^tches too.  It all starts in the home.  Parents are the first teachers.

White America, It's Time To Take A Knee

We should stop defending songs and flags and pre game ceremonies, and some cheap, ornamental nationalistic pageantry—and actually be about the work of life and liberty those things are all supposed to point to. We should be binding-up wounds instead of people of color, instead of heaping on the salt of shame and disdain.

Word.

Racism:  A Clear and Present Danger

EYE repeat, the election of President Barack Hussein Obama defined the United States of America for who/what we really are. The debate last night was an EYE opening moment, a clear and present danger,  enabled by the white male dominated media.

EYE am saddened HOPE for Change we Can Believe In has descended to a new low of ugliness and buffoonery.  And they wonder why Colin Kaepernick and others are refusing to stand for the National Anthem?  The mere fact Donald Trump is the republican nominee for President of the United States of America is Shocking and Shameful.

UPDATE: The Business Insider reported: "U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday called her criticism of National Football League player Colin Kaepernick "inappropriately dismissive and harsh" and said she should not have commented on his protest against racism and police brutality in the United States." In the NYTimes Justice Ginsburg said she should have declined to comment.

“Some of you have inquired about a book interview in which I was asked how I felt about Colin Kaepernick and other N.F.L. players who refused to stand for the national anthem,” she wrote in a note to reporters. “Barely aware of the incident or its purpose, my comments were inappropriately dismissive and harsh. I should have declined to respond.”

We're getting close now. Election season is almost over, and I can barely wait for it to end. I suspect that a lot of folks feel the way I do now. I'm about numb from the droning din of the election antics, the daily charges and counter-charges pitched across the partisan divide of character assassinations.

Today, one thing stood out to me, and it had nothing to do with the election. It is about Colin Kaepernick. And one of the Supreme Court's icons, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  

Katie Couric interviewed her, and asked about Kaep's "taking the knee." (By the way, without any disrespect to the venerable Rosa Parks, my opinion is that "taking the knee" is preferable in these circumstances and this time period to "staying seated" because, now, it is more difficult to criticize a person on bended knee than one protesting by staying seated.)    

I am flabbergasted at Justice Ginsburg's response.

"When asked by Couric how she feels about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and other athletes, refusing to stand for the anthem, Ginsburg replied, "I think it's really dumb of them...I think it's a terrible thing to do, but I wouldn't lock a person up for doing it. I would point out how ridiculous it seems to me to do such an act...What I would do is strongly take issue with the point of view that they are expressing when they do that."

"All I can say is that I am sensitive to discrimination on any basis because I have experienced that upset...I looked at that sign, and I said, 'I am a Jew, but I'm an American, and Americans are not supposed to say such things," she recalled.

Whiplash!

On the one hand, a carefully calibrated, peaceful, prominent protest against oppression is characterized by a Supreme Court Justice as "dumb...terrible...ridiculous" even as she expresses in the interview that she is "sensitive to discrimination" while taking issue with the protesters "point of view."

Without doubt, the esteemed Justice is much smarter and accomplished than I, but her response exposes a duplicity of her position of epic proportions.

Colin was clear and explicit in his statement.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Our flag and anthem declare our national principles.

My white stripes stand for liberty and equality for all.
My blue is the blue of heaven, loyalty, and faith.
I represent these eternal principles: liberty, justice, and humanity.
I embody American freedom: freedom of speech, religion, assembly, the press, and the sanctity of the home.

I take the knee with Kaep, hand over heart, - and encourage you to, too, at every opportunity.

There are no words to express how EYE feel about the latest video of the senseless murder by police of an unarmed black man/child without using profanity so EYE am going to let others speak for me today.

Sidewalks/Streets/Subdivisions in Madison, AL are not safe for "really skinny" black/brown guys/gals

Madison Police Officer Eric Parker is back from leave and headed for active duty today after Madison's acting police chief decided he did not violate policy in the sidewalk stop and takedown of an Indian pedestrian that led to federal civil rights charges and international publicity.

Let's recap:

Madison, AL Police Officer Eric Parker avoided a conviction after two mistrials.  In the first mistrial the black jurors refused to acquit, and in the second trial, the white jurors refused to acquit. Two strikes and you're out said the Federal Judge.

The only person to be found guilty of a crime is former Madison Police Chief Larry Muncey.

So now we know if someone calls and reports a really skinny black guy is walking around in the neighborhood acting suspiciously in Madison, AL it's within MPD policy to body slam said skinny black guy to the ground and partially paralyze them.

Are we safe yet?

Colin Kaepernick, like millions of people all over this country, has had enough. I've had enough. Everybody I know and love has had enough. If you don't know what we've had enough of, you are probably white and probably live in a bubble that has protected you not only from the injustice, but even from the news of its harsh reality.

EYE have been feeling some kind of way about the Star Spangled Banner and the Pledge of Allegiance for some time now.
