Dear WYPIPO #WeTriedToTellYa is Code for Listen to Black People

And before the "not all white people" whine cranks up if you listened to black people this post is NOT directed at you.

So, how is that peaceful transfer of power thingy working out for you?  Is America Great Again yet?

#WeTiredToTellYa there was something rotten in the cotton in 2016 but did you listen?  Nope.  Because we can't tell ya'll nothin' which means you're incapable of learning or willfully ignorant.

#WeTriedToTellYa you were putting evil in the White House.  We knew what we had to lose.

#WeTriedToTellYa how ignorant Trump and his people are.

"Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee because of Black voters not in spite of Black voters"

Life on the Democratic Party Plantation Cue in the theme song to Roots

Joe Biden and Jim Clyburn

Thanks to South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden carried all of the red, voter suppressing, Confederate, Slave States on Super Tuesday when African American voices are finally heard.  Candidate Biden didn't have to spend not one dime or make one promise to African American voters.  All it took was the word of one powerful Black man.

A Trump presidency that’s been disastrous for America has been catastrophic for Black people.
From spikes in hate crimes to Trump’s racism, Black communities have suffered mightily under this administration. Certainly, more progressive policies pitched by Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Warren would benefit Black people, yet there is also a sense that this nation has no real appetite to foster economic or racial equality espoused by candidates on the left.
“I like [Warren and Sanders], but I don’t see them winning, because I think they’re too progressive for a lot of white people in his country,” said Marsha, a jewelry maker who offered political analysis along with her deft recommendations for good barbecue joints in Charleston. “I don’t think white people generally vote in a way that will benefit them if it also benefits Black people.”
So now we know for sure the power of the black vote is used to benefit white people.  And all Black voters can do is vote blue no matter who and HOPE and pray white people will decide to treat us as equals someday.
My read of the South Carolina vote is that black people know exactly what they’re doing, and why. Joe Biden is the indictment older black folks have issued against white America. His support is buttressed by chunks of the black community who have determined that most white people are selfish and cannot be trusted to do the right thing. They believe if you make white people choose between their money and their morality—between candidates like Sanders or Elizabeth Warren (who somehow finished fifth in South Carolina, behind Pete Buttigieg) and candidates like Biden and Michael Bloomberg—they will choose their money every time and twice on Election Day.
EYE HOPE the candidate with the most votes wins this time

The Political Play of the Decade in #SweetHomeAlabama

Image result for picture of doug jones and joe biden
Former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Doug Jones

EYE have to give whoever developed the current political strategy in #SweetHomeAlabama for being a political mastermind the likes of which EYE haven't seen since the late Lee Atwater.  If only they used their political genius to unite instead of divide and conquer Alabama would be free at last from Republican domination.

Worley argued, in part, that the election last year was challenged only because she won. She characterized the DNC’s demands on the state party to change its bylaws as an effort to take from black party members the ability to elect blacks to the State Democratic Executive Committee.
The Alabama Democratic Party is amid a Civil War between the traditional democratic base and their white allies and the DNC enabled Doug Jones wing of the Alabama Democratic Party for control of the Black Block Vote.

What's down is up, what's up is down. The republican party is reaching out to black voters while the Alabama Democratic Party is trying to figure out how to get rid of them. It seems the Alabama Democratic Party is doing more than its fair share to ensure that Alabama remains a defacto one-party state under GOP dominance for decades to come. Sigh
Here's the deal, Democrats in #SweetHome Alabama need the Black Block Vote to get elected but they need the White Republican vote to stay elected.  EYE used to get mad when Republicans said Black voters were on the Democratic Plantation but now I see their point.  Black voters are expected to be seen and not heard and vote for who whites decide is electable.

If there was ever a time to prove that electability is a myth based on nothing but white supremacy, it’s with a president like Donald Trump whom left-leaning, sensible moderates would never cast a ballot for. Otherwise, the myth of electability ensures a future of old moderate white candidates who throw empty promises at black voters and are unwilling to take the bold steps that are needed to fight discrimination. But that’s how white supremacy works.
Let's recap:
This whole saga started when African Americans elected Doug Jones to the United States Senate. To be fair Doug Jones didn't ask for or even want our help but we knew what was at stake with the alternative plus he was running on the fact he prosecuted the killer of the Four Little Girls killed in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, AL.  We honestly thought he was the real deal.  Little did we know after the election he was going to throw the people who bought him to the party to the back of the party bus faster than a New York minute and pander to the right for political gain.  #MissionAccomplished white voters who don't want to vote for any of the Republican candidates for obvious reasons have their candidate in Doug Jones. Time will tell if enough whites will vote for him to make up for the Black block vote he threw away but EYE am betting it will because this is #SweetHomeAlabama.

But here is the Political Play of the Decade: For Democrats to have any realistic hopes of taking control of the U.S. Senate from Republicans they need to hold on to Jones seat. So control of the U.S. Senate is in the control of Alabama's Black block vote and we are damned if we vote for Doug Jones and damned if we don't.

Ain't that a dip?

About That "Draining the Swamp" Thingy....

Former Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) says "there was not a day that went by that I did not have a stack of red folders on my desk marked 'Top-Secret' that went to the president" about his time as staff secretary to Bill Clinton.

"I made choices and just have to live with them,” Manigault said. When asked if she would vote for Trump again, she said “God no, never. In a million years, never.”

They literally ran an entire campaign about their opponent’s supposedly sloppy handling of classified material.

If we could turn back time, could we, would we?

About that "peaceful transfer of power" thingy #FireAndFury

According to author Micheal Wolffe,  power was peacefully transferred to a man who didn't think he was going to win, (which technically he didn't) and his allies believe is incompetent.

EYE don't know why everyone is acting all shocked and surprised by the #FireAndFury revelations because #WeTriedToTellYa but did you listen?  Nope.

From the very first day they’ve shown us who they are and how they work:

So how is that peaceful transfer of power thingy working out for you?

Former Vice President Joe Biden presiding over the Electoral College Certification
It's been a little over 4 months since that fateful day when the reigns of power were peacefully handed over to tRump and Company. To say things have gone to hell in a handbasket is an understatement.  From firing the director of the FBI after he refused to take the loyalty pledge to GOP attempts to repeal and replace ObamaCare with TrumpNoCare,  the miseducation secretary doing everything she can to undermine public education, cabinet members under investigation including the AG who is threatening to deny federal funds to Sanctuary Cities, not to mention the attack on women, the environment, the Muslim Ban and voter suppression.

There are calls for impeaching tRump but that would not free us from the dark specter of collusion, cronyism,  corruption, and betrayal that swept in when the Electoral College selected tRump and Pence.

So now the rattlesnakes are beginning to turn on each other.  But it's too late.  It.  Is.  Over.

Remember?

Was it all just a dream?

Cue in Dixie

Did the last election really happen?

Did Democrats not retain control of the Senate?

Did President Obama and Vice President Biden win a second term?

How many  miles have to be marched, how much blood has to be shed, how many tears must be cried, before we get our voting rights back?

How many poor women will be forced to bear children they can't afford to take care of?

How many children will go to  bed hungry?

How many public schools will close?

How many college students will face debt as far as the eye can see?

How many people will be homeless?

How did the winners turn into the losers, and the losers turn into the winners

Snowy Saturday Reading List and Week in Review

I guess the media believes if they regurgitate republican talking points over and over again the American people will believe it's the truth instead of a media-driven narrative.  Here's the deal, in a nutshell, Republicans refuse to budge on tax breaks for the rich, President Obama refuses to cut Social Security and Medicare.  And that my friends is all you really need to know.

Don't forget this is the same media who enabled Bush and Dick to take our troops to war based on DEAD WRONG INTELLIGENCE, and who told us the 2012 presidential election was going to be close.  As a matter of fact, what has the media been right (no pun) about lately?

There is one thing I will agree with the Talking TeeVee Pundit Heads on, President Obama has no one to blame but himself for this sad, sorry, state of affairs.  Why he didn't believe republicans when they said they wanted him to fail I don't know.  Did he honestly believe the Sequester would be so awful republicans would compromise?  Everybody knows you can't compromise with a Suicide Bomber.  Their mission is to blow you up if they have to blow themselves up in the process...... so be it.

The Republican war on black voters, I mean entitlements, was in full force last week.  Everyone is expecting the Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II Supreme Court to overturn Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 since it was the only thing that prevented Republicans from stealing the election...again.

Republican hubris mushroomed into Republican arrogance as Alabama republicans invited Alabamians to kiss it this week under the guise they helping poor children flee failing schools.
By using this twilight legerdemain to pass a complex, watershed piece of legislation, Republicans avoided any input from our state's educators, from our state's financial experts and, most important, from we the people.
What an open display of contempt for the public: No need to bother writing your state senator or representative about your thoughts on tax credits to raise money for private schools. They don't need to hear from the likes of you.
Republican legislators disappeared into a cloakroom and practically had their way with us while we didn't even know it.
If Republicans are having their way with us, shouldn't we at least enjoy it?  I mean, really?
“Republicans heralded it as a historic day for education and life-altering for children stuck in poorly performing schools. But tempers boiled over as Democrats called the maneuver “sleaziness” and a “bait and switch.”"
On the other side of the aisle:
Rep. Mary Moore, D-Birmingham, as she was leaving the House chamber threw her hands over her head and shouted, “Welcome to the new confederacy where a bunch of white men are now going to take over black schools.”
Blast from the past re-post.
I've noticed a renewed interest in WTF did Joe Reed to do you?, which gave me the opportunity to correct some typo's and update some links. The original content is unchanged. Looking back I have to wonder how Left in Alabama feels about Joe Reed now. Their candidate, Artur Davis ,was anti AEA and pro privatizing  public education in Alabama, and he was backed by the business community in and outside of the state.  That's a group with little love for entitlements, I mean,  social programs such as access to quality, affordable health care, equal access to a quality public education, a poor woman's right to choose to have a safe, legal abortion, access to birth control, LBGT rights, and the right to vote, and have that vote count.
All roads lead to Selma mobilizing to Free Don Siegelman! H/T Sharron via Pam's List
LAST MINUTE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SELMA TOMORROW!

We just found out some different procedures for tomorrow due to Secret Service for the Vice-President.
We will still be distributing shirts and signs, but we will not know for certain exactly where we can set up until we get there in the morning.
So just look for this banner of Gov. Siegelman and that is where we will be.
Some other things to note is EVERYONE will have to go through metal detectors.
The Bridge Crossing will still begin at 1:30. The march from Brown Chapel AME Church to the bridge will begin at 11:00am.
If we understood it correctly, Vice-President will speak at the bridge prior to the crossing at 1:30.
We'll figure it all out, but we will make sure we get these signs and t-shirts distributed to you before 1:30.
 Happy reading!

RedEye's National InSecurity Week in Review

Remember the color-coded terrorism advisory scale created by a Homeland Security Presidential directive in response to the 9/11 attacks?

The response to President Obama's special  task force headed by Vice President Joe Biden to create proposals to decrease gun violence proved to be an economic stimulus for gun dealers/manufactures.  The proposed recommendations produced calls for a Gun Appreciation Day to send a loud an clear message to Congress and President Obama to keep your "hands off my guns",.  Ironically, this event will be held on the same day we celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr, who was shot and killed  by a single .30 bullet fired from a Remington 760 Gamemaster rifle while fighting for non violent social change.

Waive your rights while waving your guns!  YeeHaw!!
Next month, the Supreme Court will take up a challenge to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the most effective law of its kind in the history of the United States. A century after the Civil War, the act, in abolishing many forms of discrimination employed by the Southern states, such as poll taxes and literacy tests, finally turned the legal right for African-Americans in those states to vote into an actual right to vote. Bipartisan congressional majorities have reauthorized the law four times, most recently in 2006. (It passed the House overwhelmingly and the Senate unanimously, and was signed into law by George W. Bush.) The question now is whether the Supreme Court will strike down the Voting Rights Act as a violation of states’ rights.

Psst!  Mr. President Obama  sir, you know you are doing something wrong when Joe Scarborough,  and the mainstream media, of all people, accuses you having too many white men in the White House.   I don't know why anyone is surprised women and minorities need not apply for high level positions with the Romney, I mean Obama, administration.  I knew when the white, I mean right wing media made candidate Obama renounce, reject and repudiate Reverend Jeremiah Wright, poor black folks, not to be confused with rich black folks, were going to get left behind.

And they want us to sing God Bless America?

No!  No!  No!  God Help America.
Gun violence saturates our children’s lives and relentlessly threatens them every day. It has romped through their playgrounds; invaded their birthday parties; terrorized their Head Start classrooms, child care centers, and schools; frolicked down the streets they walk to and from school; danced through their school buses; waited at the red light and bus stop; lurked behind trees; run them down on the corner; shot them through their bedroom windows, on their front porches, and in their neighborhoods.

Undecided My Donkey

President Obama and Mitt Romney answer questions from undecided voters at the second presidential debate, at Hofstra University on Long Island, N.Y., last Tuesday.

Without a doubt President Obama won the last two debates, and any one who claims to be an undecided voter after last nights slap down in the Mouth of the Rat  hasn't been paying attention.  I suspect the so called undecided/independent/moderate voters really are republicans who are ashamed to admit it, but that's just me.

After last night, who is going to vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan besides rich white males who have convinced poor white males to vote against their interest, and old, rich, white, females who don't have to work, no longer need birth control, and can afford to pay for a safe legal abortion if they choose to?  I mean, really?

The segment of the population who has actually been paying attention to what Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have been saying on the campaign trail  knows Mitt flip/flopped all over the place on foreign policy.  I don't know about you, but I feel a lot safer with President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in charge of our safety and security than those two.

It's a question of character.  Para quoting Newt Gingrich, anyone who will lie to you to become President will lie to you when they become President.

Been there.

Done that.

I HOPE there are more voters who love our country more than they hate our President, and I am thankful the United Nations will monitor this election to ensure we have fair and free elections in America too.

About that "massive intelligence failure"....

The first question out of  Vice Presidential debate moderator Martha Raddatz's mouth last night was about the so called failure of the Obama administration to call the attack on the Libyan Consulate an act of terrorism right after it happened.

Congress Critter Paul Ryan (r.  WI), his side kick, I mean running mate, Mitt Romney (r.MA), enabled by Congress Critter Darrell Issa (r. CA) are are quick to use this tragedy for partisan, political gain, but they must have forgotten about the *cough cough* massive intelligence failure that took our troops to war based on DEAD WRONG INTELLIGENCE, to look for Weapons of Mass Destruction, that were NOT there, without body armor or an exit plan.  Talk about a conspiracy.

Vice President Joe Biden made me proud to be a Democrat last night because he proved all the republicans want is all war all the time with other people's sons and daughters, poor women not to have access to a safe legal abortion, gut Medicare,  privatize Social Security, and raise taxes on the middle class.

Psst President Obama...nice guys finish last.
