#SpyGate Shhh! I listened to WVNN AM NewsTalk so you won't have too

Secret Keeper

What is the first thing you do if you are HCS Superintendent Casey Wardynski, and HCS Board President David Blair,  and you are facing a PR nightmare over Operation #SpyGate, and you can't hold a staged protest on the steps of the Annie Merts Center?

Run as fast as your short, little, legs will carry you over to  The Attack Machine to save the day!  (Cue in Mighty Mouse theme song)

That's right (pun intended),  the best way to make your case is to take it to Radio Boy, aka Dale Jackson.  I mean, who better to make your case for spying on some students social media accounts than the person who used the official state seal on a memo telling Democrats to vote the day after the election, and called State Representative Laura Hall a racist coward

Anyhoo, here is what I learned on WVNN News Talk today and other places around the web regarding  #hsvboe Operation #SpyGate:

1.  Racial Profiling is OK.

2.  No amount of money is too much if it results in putting black/brown students out of school.

3.  The students should have called their social media post a parody and called it a day.

4.  Real Gang members don't post on Facebook.

5.  The NSA is in Maryland.....not Washington D.C.

Welcome Back Merts Center Monitor!
If you are here, I expect you already know about the latest crock of lies, evasions, deceits, illegalities, and violations of civil rights on the part of Wardynski and his henchmen: the May 2012 NSA tip-off (which the NSA denies) about a so-called immediate threat of danger (aka juvenile last day of school humor) with a foreign connection: one of the 100s of people following then junior Auseel Yousefi’s Twitter feed was a Yemeni (and thus, it seems, presumed to be a Muslim Jihadist terrorist) and how this tip-off led to the never-spent-a-day-on-the-battlefield retired colonel forming a surveillance project that the Board of Education maybe did or maybe didn’t know about (damn! who was responsible for delivering the scripts last week?) two months before the Yemeni non-event occurred.

You were missed.

Stay tuned.

"Improper use of state property, time, etc. for political actitivies" Huntsville City Schools style

Per AL.com
HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Fellowship of Faith Pastor Troy Garner will hold a press conference Monday at 12 p.m. in front of Lakewood Elementary School located on Mastin Lake Road.
Garner will call for a boycott of convenience stores selling drug paraphernalia.
"Over the past month it has been brought my attention that nearly all convenience stores in North Huntsville are selling these products. Although it might be legal, it is immoral and the placement of these products is reprehensible. We will be asking our elected officials and ministers to band together to stop this practice once and for all. I am also proud that the Huntsville Police Department supports our cause. They know firsthand the effects of illegal drugs on our young people," Garner said.
"Last week after a discussion with my daughter and wife, we sent our 15-year-old daughter into one of these stores and she was able to buy drug paraphernalia in less than five minutes. This convenience store was located across from Lakewood Elementary School. Our charge is to protect our children and stop the drug problems and the crimes it causes in our community. Enough is enough. "
Why is this press conference being held on school property during school hours, instead of at Pastor  Garner's church , which is located less than half a mile away from Lakewood Elementary School?  This has nothing to do with school business, and what about the separation of church and state?

IMHO, this is another media enabled weapon of mass distraction from the desegregation battle, and a nice nasty way of telling black clergy, black elected officials, and  black community leaders what they should be focused on.  Want proof?  Listen to HCS superintendent Casey Wardynski during this interview on WVNN, pay close attention at the 6:44-7:11 time mark.

Listen to this interview and you will hear the callous disregard for the safety of the student's, teachers, and support personnel at the new north high school.  Funny how Wardynski and Company are concerned about the crime and drugs in north Huntsville but not about the potential health and safety risk associated with building a school less than half a mile from an active rock quarry.
Other elected officials speaking against the quarry were Mark Russell, president of Huntsville City Council, Madison County District 3 Commissioner Eddie Sisk, state Sen. Paul Sanford, state Sen. Shadrack McGill, state Rep. Wayne Johnson, Gurley Mayor Rob Sentell, Gurley Councilman Robert Wren.
Their concerns addressed environmental quality of Flint River and Hayes Nature Preserve, unsafe traffic with trucks crossing Norfolk Southern Railroad along a curve, heavy trucks sharing roads with school buses, air quality at two nearby schools and a lack of local governmental control of the quarry operation.
To be clear, I agree the issue of crime in our city needs to be addressed, and I am all for us working together for a safer and better Huntsville,  however let's work together with more substance and less show.

Enough is Enough

Call it Satire and go back to sleep

Star 94 94.9 WMSR Florence Muscle Shoals Stunt Bomb Threat Alien Invasion Format Change
Here we go again.  Another radio haox gone bad.

A stunt leading into a new format for URBan Radio’s CHR “Star 94” 94.9 WMSR Collinwood, TN/Muscle Shoals, AL has somehow escalated into local law enforcement placing extra security at area schools.
On Monday, WMSR began airing drops from “two aliens” planning on taking over the station later this week. At 9am this morning the station began stunting with a different micro-format every hour which included the aliens commentary on the music. The new format is expected to launch on Friday.
Somehow some of the early drops from the aliens led to listeners to believe that the 9am takeover today were going to lead to bombings at area schools. Despite warnings from local police that it was just a programming stunt, local towns placed extra police officers at schools to placate those who thought the threat was real.
Alabama Residents Panic After Radio Station's Joke Alien Invasion

When it comes to media, the line between truth and fiction is sometimes hazier than the Milky Way. Just ask Star 94.9, the Alabama radio station that aired a mock warning of an extra-terrestrial invasion on Aug. 27 and subsequently sent the town of Tuscumbia into a spiral of panic about an impending bomb attack.
Apparently, the broadcast, which included an alien reading Goodnight Moon, spiraled into an elaborate rumor of a bomb threat at a local school.
Sorry, but I'm not laughing.  The line between truth and fiction is not hazier than the Milky Way and the public airways shouldn't be used to promote lies and scare people in this hypersensitive post 9/11 world.  The power of the press is awesome, and in this case awful.

This is a copy of an email I received this morning from conservative radio talk show host, and Rush Limbaugh wannabe, Dale "Jackson" informing me he is still standing in the Blogosphere Door and preventing me from commenting unless I bow down to his demand and admit I will NOT play the "I don't understand card"...  In other words, it's my way or the highway.

What exactly is playing  the "I don't understand card" you ask?   It's when a person dares ask Dale to clarify, explain or justify, his comments/point of view. You know, that thingy that usually happens during the course of a civilized, respectful, mature,  debate/discussion.

Either Dale thinks I can read his mind, knows when he's joking, or, what he's trying to say, or, he feels as if he is one who can not be questioned.

Yes, the same Dale Jackson who is accusing Huntsville City Council member Will Culver of running away from his questions,  demanding answers from high profile city officials,  and, who filed a freedom of information request with the City of Huntsville regarding the hiring of Kenneth Anderson as the Multicultural Affairs head.

What's amazing to me is the fact Dale doesn't see the gross hypocrisy of his actions. He can dish it out, because he's not government..

He can't take it because according to him,  he's press but not a journalist. Huh?

There is more than a whiff of hypocrisy.
 Yeah! (0.00 / 0)
Figure it out...
Downrating coming in 3...2...1...

Do better. Dale, I have to say you were right - mooncat You're an entertainer son! -Parker Griffith
This is how Dale Jackson responds to people he doesn't agree with.

Again,  I don't know Jeff Mosley, but I wish he'd spoken up for himself at the City Council Meeting, or at least had someone to speak on his behalf that doesn't censor liberal comments on his blog, screen liberal callers to his radio show,  and resort to name calling, personal attacks, and insults when the substance of his arguments fail.

"Keep in mind, this little game has a victim" and it's not Dale "Jackson"

If there was ever any doubt about the power of the press, and I don't mean the printing press, I mean the people who report the news, look no further than the latest media enabled, faux, right wing outrage, starring none other than conservative talk radio host, and Rush Limbaugh wanna be, Dale Jackson.
During the public comment portion of Thursday's Huntsville City Council meeting, Jackson, host of a conservative talk show on WVNN, alleged that Calhoun wanted a powerful African-American elected official on the faculty to help push through its plans for a larger Huntsville campus. Jackson contends that Calhoun dismissed Jeff Mosely, an instructor with "excellent" personnel evaluations, to make room for Culver.
Click and read the full timeline, much of which was complied with the "help of folks who wish to remain anonymous", complete with a copy of a letter written by Jeff Mosley, "sent to many in the 2-year college chain of command, up to the Governor", without a response.

Actually there are some valid questions and concerns surrounding this issue, however, the media has made this about conservative talk show host Dale Jackson, instead of Jeff Mosley, the expansion of Calhoun Community College into Huntsville, and the  hiring of the Director of Multicultural Affairs.  Was this a quid pro quo?

We have to question the motives and the agenda of folks who wish to remain anonymous, and conservative talk radio host......who probably just added 10% to his ratings.

I don't know Jeff Mosley, but I wish he'd spoken up for himself at the City Council Meeting, or at least had someone to speak on his behalf that doesn't censor liberal comments on his blog, screen liberal callers to his radio show,  and resort to name calling, personal attacks, and insults when the substance of his arguments fail.

Keep in mind, this is not a little game, it's about real people.  The real victims are the truth and the taxpayers.

Dale Jackson just convicted George Zimmerman in one sentence

"Why the black community insists on acting like being told not to dress/act/mimic thugs is outrageous is beyond me and that attitude is getting people killed." Dale Jackson The Attack Machine 6/12/2013
I'm not a lawyer, or a detective,  but I watch a lot of them on TeeVee, and they all say means ( the ability of the defendant to commit the crime), motive (the reason the defendant felt the need to commit the crime), and opportunity ( whether or not the defendant had the chance to commit the crime), are the three aspects of a crime that must be established before guilt can be determined.  Dale Jackson laid out the George Zimmerman's motive for profiling, stalking, and killing, Trayvon Martin in one sentence.

According to Radio Boy ~"The simple point is this, they started with race based killing and refuse to let facts stop that story."
This is what happens…
  • Zimmerman followed Martin
  • Martin took exception
  • Martin confronts Zimmerman about being followed
  • Martin and Zimmerman scuffled
  • Martin was winning
  • Zimmerman fears for his life
  • Zimmerman kills Martin
  • The end
Radio Boy doesn't know exactly what happened unless he was an eye witness, so he is relaying Hearsay As the lawyers on TeeVee say, he assumes facts not in evidence.  So let me offer a rebuttal and set the record straight with facts that are in evidence.

Trayvon Martin was stalked, hunted, murdered, for the crime of WALKING WHILE BLACK

HE HAD NOTHING BUT SKITTLES AND ICED TEA.

HE WAS MINDING HIS OWN DAMN BUSINESS ON THAT NIGHT…IN THAT HOUSING DEVELOPMENT..

TRAYVON WAS A VICTIM PREYED UPON BY A CRIMINAL VIGILANTE THUG WHO DECIDED TO BE JUDGE, JURY AND EXECUTIONER FOR TRAYVON.

Why Dale Jackson thinks this is OK is beyond me, unless he was raised that way.  To my knowledge  White children aren't told not to act/dress/mimic thugs by their parents.
The inherent social contract that modern western society has placed on black folks is this:  If you want upward social mobility, a good job, and fair and equitable treatment, and avoid being pulled over, arrested, constantly harassed, expelled from school, or murdered, then don't LOOK or ACT like a NIGGER Don’t be stereotypically loud, obnoxious, combative or arrogant. Don’t wear gang colours, baggy pants, doo-rags, bandanas, wave caps or Timberlands. Not only were we told to act JUST like the REST of society – we were told to act BETTER. And if we acted the same as others, we faced STIFFER consequences and that was just the way it was. And you know what the WORST part about this deal is – we TOOK it.
Psst Dale!  MSNBC isn't the one that sees racism in everything including parenting.......  your beef is with Toure,  he is employed by MSNBC,  he doesn't own MSNBC.  That's just like saying WVNN sees racism in everything because you are employed by them.

It's Time for Dale Jackson to Put Up or Shut Up

I pledge to use my time and my money to help anyone who wants and ID and doesn't have one to get one.~Dale Jackson July 13,2012

I will not quit.  I will continue to fight to get people the ID they need to vote because this is the most important issue of our time.~Dale Jackson July 13, 2012

Graphic by  mooncat @LeftinAlabama
In an obvious attempt to gain publicity for himself, and mock voters who will be negatively impacted by the new Voter ID laws being passed by red, republican, controlled legislators and governors in key swing states, including Sweet Home Alabama, WVNN radio talk show host Dale Jackson challenged liberals to stop whining about the Voter ID laws and do something about it. by offering to single-handedly (sic) solve this problem by not only picking up "the poor", taking them to the appropriate agency, paying for their ID and buying them a sandwich..

There was only one problem, Dale needed help identifying the poor and destitute who couldn't obtain an ID, so he enlisted the help of the Alabama Democratic Party, The Alabama Federation of Democratic Women, Limestone County Democrats, and the Madison County Democrats via Facebook.

Refusing to give up Dale even suckered LiA blogger and commentor Dragontide into posting his appeal for help on the font page of Left in Alabama promising to ask Congress Critter Mo Brooks (r), and Alabama Senators Richard Shelby(r) and Jeff Sessions(r) about a nationwide federal program to issue ID's, which Dale reneged on.

Well Dale, you don't have to beg for help identifying the poor, destitute people you claim you are trying to help because the Brennan Center for Justice has done the work for you in a report that list the number of Alabamians who need to be picked up, taken to the appropriate agency so you can to buy them a voter ID card.

Psst Dale!  Get out your checkbook and write a check for the total cost of the ID card, transportation, and a sandwich  for the number of people in the Tennessee Valley listening area, identified for you in the report, and send it the Brennan Center for Justice so they can help you win the fight to get people the ID they need to vote because this is the most important fight of our time.

32.7%, or 1,137,724, voting age Alabama citizens live more than 10 miles from the nearest state ID-issuing office which is open more than 2 days a week

6.1% of voting age Alabama citizens (213,386) have no vehicle access.

26.8% of those voting age Alabama citizens with no vehicle access (57,285) also live 10 miles or more from the nearest state ID-issuing office that's open more than 2 days a week

Sweet Home Alabama Media Standing with Rush

Rush Limbaugh also supports child abduction, brainwashing and war criminal Joseph Kony.  Do you?

Republican Speaker of the House and owner of WANI NewsTalk 1400  Mike Hubbard supports Rush.  Do you?

Stand for some body's daughter , grand daughter, sister,  aunt, niece, cousin, neighbor, church member, student, friend instead.  Stand with someone who wasn't afraid to speak up and speak out.

Everybody knows it's the job of Rush and Company to keep the dumb, bigots dumb.  They are doing a good job.

Conservative values=standing with Ru$h?

Let's Face It;  Rush Limbaugh is a Misogynist.

Ru$h Roundup

The fallout behind Ru$h Limbaugh's nasty, mean spirited,  personal attack against Sandra Fluke continues, despite his half a$$, post advertiser bailout apology.
"My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices."
Isn't it funny how the right wing, Lords of Loud, always resort to the I was just kidding, I am an entertainer line when they resort to personal attacks, name calling and insults to attack the messenger because they can't attack the message?  Pun intended.

Speaking of attacking the messenger, local radio boy and Ru$h Wanna Be, gets the award for the headline of the week:  Kathy Peterson tried to punish WVNN for nailing her.  Be sure and check out the sidebar for a list of WVNN's  advertisers and sponsors. Ru$h to the exits. Pun intended.

Why Ru$h thought he could get away with calling a young, white woman a slut and a prostitute is beyond me.  Now if he had called Shirley Sherrod, Sonia Sotomayor and President Obama racist, criticized Michelle Obama's weight,  or, mocked Malia Obama  that would have been all right.  Snark intended.

"One of the things we can't do is, we can't let them distract from what we're all about, and what we're trying to accomplish. We're trying to keep the focus on comprehensive, universal health care reform, and they're going all over the place. They are desperate, uh, they don't have leadership, uh, they really don't know what to do, and so, I think we're going to continue to see a lot of crazy things happening, like all of the, uh, outrage that has been demonstrated at these town hall meetings, like the kind of statement that Congresswoman Jenkins made, and let them define themselves, let them reveal who they are. The American public needs to see that."~Representative Maxine Waters (D.CA)

Redeye's Week in Review and Rant

All politics is local. You won't read it in the Huntsville Times or see it on TeeVee but the Merts Center Monitor has the scoop on the past and present Superintendents, and one HCS Board members' travel expenses for non travel.
Did ex-Superintendent Ann Roy Moore travel 1455 local miles in June?

If not, once again, the Huntsville City Schools have paid money for nothing.

What do you want to bet if this were about a Councilman getting 40 dollars worth of gas for his daughter in the after math of a natural disaster or a school principal falsifying documents, or a high school football coach being arrested for drunken driving on campus this would be all over the news? Speaking of the fired Grissom High School football coach, check this out about the interim football coach;
Football coach resigns after five seasons at helm

Madison Academy became the fourth metro area school that is searching for a new football coach when Matt Clouser offered his resignation Friday after five seasons.
The Mustangs join Grissom, Bob Jones and Westminster in seeking a new coach.
"We'll start the search immediately,'' Madison Academy president Bob Burton said. "We'd like to have someone in place to go through spring practice.''
Burton said logistics was a key issue in Clouser's resignation. Clouser operates his own business, is not employed by the school as a teacher and couldn't get to the school until late afternoon.

Hmmmm. I wonder if they got that little issue worked out? See, this is why teacher tenure and due process is important, so employees can't be fired because someone in the community reports them being drunk on campus and replaced with cronies.

Talk about a waste of time. Ardent Terri Sewell fan, I mean supporter, LiA editor mooncat is longing to attend an issue forum sponsored by, the Congress Socialite, Socialite, I mean woman, during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Legislative Conference later this month, entitled Voting Trends in South in the Age of Obama where do we go form here? WTF? Psst Congresswoman Sewell, in light of the voter suppression laws being passed by southern governors, including your own, don't you think a better issue would be Dismantling the Black Vote? That's where we are going from here in the "age of Obama". And send mooncat a ticket. :)

Can't let the sixth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina pass without comment. Six years after Katrina the battle for New Orleans continues.
The anger at the changes in New Orleans’ black community is palpable. It comes out at city council meetings, on local black talk

radio station WBOK
, and in protests. “Since New Orleans was declared a blank slate, we are the social experimental lab of the world,” says Endesha Juakali, a housing rights activist. However, despite the changes, grassroots resistance continues.

I wonder how we can get a radio station like this to combat a radio station like this?

Despite the fact the USDA says food stamps kept more people from going hungry the republican governor of Michigan signs a 48 month welfare limit bill. Our resident righty HOPES Alabama's republican Governor follows suit despite the fact Alabama is number 1 in the nation of people on food stamps. I guess they want to people starve to death.

Rant over.

Non Apologetic "Socialist"

Let's just cut to the chase and stop the pretense. The words Socialist and Socialism didn't appear in our lexicon until Barack Hussein Obama was elected President of the United States of America. Calling him a Socialist is an acceptable slur because calling him the N word is not.

Former MSNBC Host Carlos Watson said it first which is probably why he's a former MSNBC host.

What concerns me is that in some of those town hall meetings including the one we saw in Missouri recently where there were jokes made about lynching etc, you start to wonder whether in fact the word socialist is becoming a code word, whether or not socialist is becoming the new N-Word for frankly for some angry upset birthers and others, I hope that’s not the case, but that sure does say to you what David Brooks said the other day on T.V. which is that more credible conservatives have to stand up and say there’s a line that has to be drawn, that there’s a line of responsibility, that’s important that extends to the words we choose including how choose even legitimate words like “socialist…
Calling his agenda Socialism is an acceptable slur because it's code for lazy, shiftless, baby making, black folks that want the government to take care of them (social programs). Rush, Sean and the other Lords of Loud use the public airways define Socialism as the use of taxes and government entitlements (welfare) to redistribute wealth from the rich(white) to the poor (black/brown). If the media we had would do it's JOB and use the public airways to inform the public instead of keeping the dumb bigots in line we wouldn't be in this mess.
The media who can talk at nauseam about balloon boy, can’t seem to put together a complete educational story about crap that really matters. Instead the media, and their overpaid experts, who opine about everything irrelevant, have yet to correct or educate anyone on one broken record statement; “Obama is moving America towards Socialism.” It really irritates me that none of these overpaid “news” celebrities even bothers to deal with “what is Socialism” and “are we really going there?”
I bring this up now because our illustrious Congress Critter from the 5th district Mo Brooks was forced to retract the socialist comment from his House floor remarks but he's not sorry. I'm not surprised Mo is not sorry. I'm just sorry my progressive, informed, involved friends help send him to Washington D.C. in the first place. I tried to tell them, but did they listen to me? Noooo. That would have been too much like right (pun intended), but I digress.

Ironically, candidate Mo Brooksand I had the following exchange on Flashpoint blog regarding his anti socialism platform
Commissioner Brooks,
Would you be so kind and define/explain/clarify specifically what you mean by your assertion “the American economy is threatened by the twin evils of unsustainable budgets and socialism”? What unsustainable budgets and what socialism?
His response was to refer me to his website (thanks but no thanks), bash Pelosi and Obama, and an invitation to call him. But, he had this to say when pressed for specifics by someone who wanted to support him.

The beauty of the free enterprise system is that it will take care of economic matters by itself if we elect leaders who both understand how the free enterprise system works . . . and have enough confidence in our free enterprise system to let it work.

The free enterprise system has served America well for more than two centuries (and made us, for roughly sixty years, the world’s greatest economic power).

And yes, we should have let the bad banks fail. The government should never reward failure with tax dollars. If the federal government had stayed out of it, the banks that were doing things right would have survived and purchased the assets (primarily customer base) of failing banks . . . and everything would have worked itself out. And everyone would have been reminded that the price of failure is failure. Not reward.

As for GM, the same principles apply. Although we should note that it was government interference in the free enterprise system (examples: extraordinary tax burdens on GM and/or wrongful interference with the natural balance between labor unions and management) that led to GM’s demise. Had “know-it-all” and/or pandering politicians not intervened and made GM uncompetitive, it would still be thriving (with no taxpayer intervention or subsidies).

If my economics degree at Duke University (with highest honors) taught me anything it is this: no one group of people (i.e. – the government) is smarter than the collective knowledge of everyone who participates in and makes decisions concerning the free enterprise system. Anyone who believes our government “leaders” are smarter than the collective wisdom of everyone else in America gets the failures they deserve

Stated differently, I know I’m not smarter than the collective wisdom of the free enterprise system. Hence, I know that it is best to defer to the solutions and innovations the free enterprise system ultimately creates.

Government’s role should be very simple and very limited. Get out of the way except in the most extraordinary of situations (an example of proper government interventionism is when competition has been replaced with monopoly or similar anti-competitive practices).

Non apologetic Mo is hosting a WVNN Legislative Get Together at the Melting Pot of all places on May 13, 2011. I think all non apologetic socialist should attend and say it loud,

We're Socialist and Proud!

I believe in nationalizing banking.

I believe in nationalizing energy. Oil, ng, electricity generation.

Added to our already nationalized...

Military

Edit: to clarify and correct my OP the following are mostly under the control of state and or local governments. However many listed below do receive funding from the federal gov't.
Police
Fire
Highway/roads/streets
Water/Sewer
Education

I believe in government for the people, by the people.

Free and fair elections. Hand counted paper ballots.

Ban corporate person hood.

Use anti-trust laws to break up mega corps and multi-nationals.

Ban corporate campaign spending.

Eliminate the disgraceful wealth divide in America.
- fair, progressive taxation of the super wealthy.
- a LIVING WAGE FOR ALL WORKERS.
- pass and sign Employee Free Choice Act into law with a strong card check provision.
- a government with the backbone to protect a workers right to organize, and enforce labor law.
- ban of all federal funds to states with 'Right to Work'(for less) laws until they repeal these anti-worker laws.
- creation of a workers Bill of Rights.

End all foreign wars of Imperialism.
- Afghanistan -BRING THEM HOME ALIVE, NOW!
- WOT
- America's war against the poor in Central and South America.
- Close the School of the Americas
- Close Gitmo
- Close our 700+ international military bases spread all over the globe. Bring EVERY soldier home.

Reduce our so-called "defense" budget by no less than 50%.

Invest in America's aging infrastructure- rail, mass transit, high speed, light rail, city bus, roads, bridges, water, sewer, high speed Internet, electrical grid, seaway, PUBLIC EDUCATION.

There is no greater investment that a government can make in it's people than public education. Access to a quality education for ALL is a basic human right. Is there anything that can enable and empower a person to be self-sufficient better than access to a quality education?

Perhaps, affordable access to health care.

Single Payer Universal Health Care for all, and nothing less.

Affordable housing. End homelessness - a growing tragedy.

Feed the hungry.

I believe that democratically elected representative government can prevent us from being a 3rd world nation.
......................................

I don't pretend to speak for all socialists. Many here may disagree with my stances. What I listed above are just some of the reasons why I consider myself to be a Socialist.

I am a proud Socialist.

Socialist to the bone!

I will take my Socialist beliefs to my grave and make no apologies for them.

See you the Melting Pot Mo. I'll be the one wearing the Socialist T-Shirt, :)

The public banning of Dale Jackson Part 1

The cats and other critters at Left in Alabama have banished right-wing radio shock jock Dale Jackson from its pages. Again. Unlike yours truly, Dale Jackson had a democratic (pun intended) process complete with pro/con discussion and was allowed to defend himself prior to his banning.

The administrators claim I am lying about being banned but when your user name and password are invalid and they are the only ones who can render them invalid what do you call it? See that's how they operate over there, throw a rock then hide their hand.

Anyhoo since my name was mentioned several times during the debate and since I'm the reason Dale Jackson started posting on Left in Alabama in the first place, I thought it might be helpful to take a trip down memory lane to set the record straight because there is more than a whiff of censorship and suppression at Left in Alabama.

I am not a trained investigative reporter and I don't play one in the blogosphere so bare with me as I attempt to connect the dots.

To be clear, this is not the first time Dale Jackson was banned from Left in Alabama, this is his second strike, but hey at least he got a second chance.
Mooncat has the ultimate decision making responsibility and she wanted this thread, to help with the decision. It was not "piggieheart being pissed off at Dale Jackson" although that describes how I have felt a number of times.
Dale Jackson's first post at Left in Alabama was on Tue May 06, 2008, at 05:24:10 AM CDT in response to my post-All Politics are (should be is) Local; Help fight the Right-Wing Media

Help the USBA today.

A local talk radio station, has been unfair to the USBA in its reporting of news and information about the USBA, its members, the Downtown Rescue Mission and the citizens that live in the area’s affected. However, they have voluntarily put a ballot on their website to allow for the listening public to express their opinion on whether they have been fair to our association or not. All you have to do is go to http://www.wvnn.com/ and on the right hand side just below the lineup box you will see the WVNN Daily Poll. The question is : Has the University Sparkman Business Association been treated unfairly on "The Dale Jackson Show." Just Vote Yes or No and hit the Vote button. Do this from as many different computers as possible if you want your votes to count.

Secondly: This type of so called journalism, where talkers are just cut off in the middle of a sentence, and the show management refuses to confer with proper spokespersons, and sometimes may even just outright lie trying to persuade the public to their viewpoint is not the kind of professionalism we are accustomed to here in the Tennessee Valley as it relates to media coverage. (Virtually all other forms of local media have been by and large fair and reasonably accurate. This includes all 4 TV stations, The Huntsville Times, and AL.com) Thus, we also suggest you consider calling AND emailing Bill West, General Manager for Cumulus media, the parent company for this station and several others in the area.billg.west@cumulus.com Tel.: (256) 830-8300 Fax: (256) 232-6842 . Mr. West may not be aware that this kind of stuff has infuriated our business community.

The USBA is not perfect, but for a business organization that has only been together for about 2 weeks, we have and will continue to make phenomenal progress in participation, organization, and progress toward reaching our goals. We know of no other new born business organization anywhere that has made so much progress in so short of time. Your assistance is appreciated and helps the USBA toward attaining is goals of representing you .
Fast forward to Tue Oct 28, 2008, at 05:45:00 AM CDT Dale Jackson gets his wish and is banned from Left in Alabama.
After begging for months, WVNN talk show host DaleJackson has at last been banned from Left in Alabama. The magic words were "Kill them!" Yesterday BenGoshi, a valued member of the Left in Alabama community, wrote and posted a diary alerting this site to the Skinhead/Neo-Nazi plot hatched to mass-murder African-American children and assassinate Senator Barack Obama.
Note BenGoshi is no longer a valued member of the Left in Alabama community either but that's another story. Hint, it has something to do with Artur Davis.

I was one of the few who was against Dale Jackson being banned:
I wanted Dale Jackson to continue posting his name calling, personal attacks, insults and lies for the world to see. I wanted the world to see the mentality of the people who selected Bush and Dick to drive our country into the ditch and who are presently supporting John Mc$ame and Sarah Quaylin to drive us further into the ditch.

I was also one of the dissenting voices because I was banned from the al.com forum. Not because of behavior like Dale Jacksons, but because I was able to effectively articulate the "liberal" point of view and refute and debunk the right wing spin. The Latte drinking, Birkenstock wearing, Tree Hugging, Bleeding Heart, First Amendment Loving, Hippy, Peacenik, LIBERAL that I am deplores banning of any American from forums. I may not agree with what someone is saying or how they are saying it, but I believe in their right to say it. Our sons and daughters are fighting, dying and being maimed for life in Iraq supposedly fighting for our "freedoms", in my opinion banning citizens is a slap in their face and all of our faces.

That's the way I felt then and it's the way I feel now. Plus I knew if Dale Jackson could be banned I could be banned and sure enough, Friday, November 13, 2009, was my unlucky day and I was no longer a valued member of the Left in Alabama Community because of the content and comments of my post. Hint, content, and comments about Artur Davis.

Stay tuned for part II-Dale Jackson's second chance. In the meantime check out Whatever happened to LiA for more background.

I can't post at Left in Alabama, however, Left in Alabama commenters are welcome to post here. I don't rate or moderate comments. I believe in the first amendment. Tolerant people can agree to disagree without being disagreeable and resorting to name-calling, personal attacks or insults.
