Update~Awkward Annal's of American Politics on Labor Day

As you can see from the comments I am being accused of "technically repeating libel/slander in regards to this post regarding the Romney Campaign slogan/them.  Although I don't agree with the premise or the argument , I am editing the post to read;

Did you know one of the themes/slogans adopted by the Romney campaign, "Keep America America" is a variation of  Keep America American, once a slogan of the Ku Klux Klan?  The question is did Team Romney know his campaign slogan was once used by the KKK?  Awkward.
It is being reported by the Huffington Post that Romney’s campaign slogan “Keep America American” was the driving theme of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920s. The slogan was the rallying cry for groups seeking to intimidate and terrorize black, Jewish and gay people all throughout the United States.
That said, did Romney/Ryan technically repeat Libel/Slander when they said President Obama ended the work for welfare requirement?  Are the Birthers technically repeating Libel/Slander when they claim the President wasn't born in America, implying he is not an American?  I guess it depends on what the definition of technically repeating Libel/Slander IS, because it looks like the republicans can technically dish out Libel/Slander, but they can't take it.

The same genius who came up with the KKK slogan for Romney must be the same genius who thought the Alabama, Mississippi and Florida delegations  Democratic National Convention kickoff party should be held at Historic Rosedale Plantation in  Charlotte, North Carolina.   Oh well, at least it wasn't held in the slave quarters.

 How do they expect us to move forward when there is always something there to remind us?

Hey Redeye, do you know the meaning of slander and libel?

Keep America American is not Romney’s campaign slogan. It is BELIEVE IN AMERICA. Keep throwing that lie out and you are committing slander, you are committing libel. The Washington Post blogger who claimed that Romney used Keep America American resigned from her position because of this mistake.

BTW, if you have any sense of what is right, you will pull down that last post on your blog and post an apology in its place.

Hey Brian,

What Slander/Libel did I "throw out"?

Your publishing information (saying that Romney/Ryan are using Keep America American as their campaign slogan) that is false and it is viewable to others.

Technically, your repeating slander and libel that originated elsewhere and that is actually quite old in the campaign cycle (originated in December of last year). But it is still a false statement meant to defame the Romney/Ryan campaign.

What Slander and Libel am I technically repeating Brian?

What slander? What libel? Simply put, that Romney/Ryan's campaign slogan is "Keep America American". It's not. You further it by trying to tie it and them to the KKK.

I could see you accusing me of technically repeating Libel/Slander if I accused Mitt Romney of being a child molester, but I just don't see it in this case.

Did you use a false statement?
Did you, by omission, claim that said false statement was a fact?

Your statement:
"Did you know Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan's Campaign Slogan , Keep America American, was once a slogan of the Ku Klux Klan?"

False Statement Implied as Fact:
"Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan's Campaign Slogan , Keep America American"

Libel is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, religion, or nation a negative or inferior image.

Did you notice I have a hyper link to Keep America American, was once a slogan of the Ku Klux Klan?

Brian, would it make you feel better if I said this:
"Did you know the Romney campaigns' adopted campaign slogan/theme, "Keep America America", is a variation of slogan once used by the Ku Klux Klan that said "Keep America American?"

If that was Romney/Ryan's campaign slogan, yes, but it's not. Romney/Ryan's campaign slogan is "Believe in America"

The best you have against Romney is that Romney once used in a December 2011 campaign stop, the phrase, "Keep America America" which is similar to a slogan once used by the Ku Klux Klan that said "Keep America American"

No, that's not "the best I have against Romney", it's the truth. BTW, I posted a correction just for you.

In addition to accusing me of technically repeating Libel/Slander Brian24 is accusing me of deleting his comments another blog;
"Redeye, you want to have things about your blog handled on your blog. Then you need to step up. You delete posts when they suit your fancy. Worst I said in the post that you deleted of mine was that you were throwing mud."
http://www.theattackmachine.com/

I have not seen, nor deleted any such post. I checked my spam box, no post there. If you note when post are deleted from this blog they either say deleted by administrator (me), or deleted by author. I see no deletion by either the administrator or the author on this thread.

Brian says he will no longer comment on my blog, that's fine, but it won't be because I deleted his comments.
