'Economic Treason" Day 10

Eric Cantor and his male colleagues sit at a table

No matter your take on the debate over the shutdown and the debt ceiling, there’s one irrefutable fact: All of the major players in the negotiations are white men. On the right, you’ve got Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), and House Majority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA).

I’ve said something for a long time and I will open this piece with it:
The Republican Party DECIDED to commit ECONOMIC TREASON against this country beginning January 20, 2009.
The very night of Barack Obama’s inauguration, a group of GOP leaders met, and decided, in the midst of the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression that they only would not work with this President to try and fix the economy, but that they would actively work against ANYTHING that he brought forth.
Tell the truth and shame the Devil.

The republican't war on the Federal government began with Nixon (and the racist Southern Strategy, of course). By the time Nixon was gone, America had no faith in government, and then he gave us Ford (who turned around and pardoned Nixon).

Then we had Reagan, the Bush dynasty, Gingrich and now Boehner/Cruz. The destruction of our faith in a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" continues.

Harbingers like Redeye give us hope and a forum. We do know what's going on. We have seen this sickness in process all of our lives, for an entire generation.

We know what they really want. 2 Americas. 2 classes. Basically, the 1% with no restrictions, and a 99% who scrabble for the leftover crumbs - and fight each other like dogs, survival of the fittest, and "As long as I got mine - up yours!" And we will be told it is God's will!

This is why I am and shall remain a Democrat who would vote for a "yaller dog" before I would ever vote for a republican't.
