Alabama State Senator Paul Sandford's 2000 foot bill is a pile of #HypocrisyInAction

Let's recap:
State Senator Paul Sandford (R. Hypocrite HSV) sponsored SB 205,  making it illegal for poor women to have access to quality health care within 2000 feet of a public school in Alabama.  Why? Because it's more important  anti choice protesters have the right to exercise their first amendment rights within 2000 feet of a public school.  Sigh
A state senator has filed legislation that would require north Alabama’s only abortion clinic to move, again.
Sen. Paul Sanford, R-Huntsville, filed the legislation today, saying he didn’t want a repeat of last year, when similar legislation passed the House but stalled in the Senate.

Senate Bill 205 would prohibit an abortion clinic from operating within 2,000 feet of a public school. Rep. Ed Henry, R-Hartselle, carried the bill in the House last year and has said he will again this year, but he hasn’t yet filed it.

The Alabama Women’s Center for Reproductive Alternatives in Huntsville is across the street from Edward H. White Middle School. The clinic moved to that location in 2014 after being forced out of a building on Madison Street in downtown Huntsville — within sight of the Huntsville Hospital main emergency room — in order to comply with the 2013 Women’s Health and Safety Act and its regulations on building standards.
Mind you, this same Senator,  who is so concerned about children being exposed to anti choice protesters, isn't concerned at all about the health and safety of the children who will be exposed to Silica dust particles because their school is being re-located to a site less than half a mile from an active rock quarry, but EYE digress.

There is more than a whiff of hypocrisy.  H/T Left in Alabama

We can put a restriction on whether a liquor store opens up across the street and make sure pedophiles stay away from schools,” Sanford said. “I just think having an abortion clinic that close to elementary-age school children that actually have to walk on the sidewalk past it is not the best thing.
Protecting the children my Donkey.

Psst!  Senator Sanford, how about passing a bill restricting public schools from being built less than half a mile from an active rock quarry if you really care about school age children.

Why Sweet Home Alabama is ranked #48 in the nation when it comes to Education.
Hugh Taylor, the superintendent of the DeKalb County Board of Education, denied a request for a Collinsville High School history club--sponsored by teacher Bradley Crawford--to attend the movie, Selma, along with other students from Crawford's classes because it contains the F-word and racial slurs.
Taylor is an elected official, a Republican who defeated four other candidates in a 2012 election to replace Charles Warren, who retired after 12 years on the post. Before then, Taylor served as principal at Ruhama Junior High in DeKalb County.

Sweet Home Alabama, where the rich get richer and the poor are Suckers.
Poor Alabamians continue to pay a larger share of their income in state and local taxes than upper-income earners, but the state no longer is among the "Terrible Ten," according to a report released Wednesday.
If millionaires convince you to vote against your self interest you are a sucker.
What looks like crazy on an ordinary day in Alabama
The recent announcement stating that the North Alabama Regional Hospital, a psychiatric facility, will be closing its doors in June simply means that there will be no more state-run mental hospitals in the Tennessee Valley.
The idea behind this was to save the state money and to shift the burden (and, of course, the cost) of care onto local communities. The claim is to "streamline" the way the state handles the long-term mentally ill by transferring them into "community-based" programs. If you define jail, as a "community-based" program, then the claim may have some truth in it.
Proof the red, republican, Alabama state legislature is pro life as long as it's in the womb.  After that, all bets are off .

With democrats like Terri Sewell who needs republicans

ObamaCare Race Baiting 101

ObamaCare Race Baiting Bought to you by  Radio Boy

ObamaCare

I thought republicans were pro-life?
Some conservatives have urged young uninsured Americans to steer clear of the Affordable Care Act's health insurance exchanges, and Sen. Angus King (I-ME) thinks that's reprehensible.
“That’s a scandal — those people are guilty of murder in my opinion,” King told Salon on Friday.
Clearly republicans are not pro lifeThis is what they don't want you to know.  This is what they don't want you to have. They know once you have access to quality affordable health care you are going to like it.

How the health care law protects you

Republicans are not pro life, they are anti choice

The majority of the American people, including me, are pro-life.  How many people do you know who are anti-life?  I mean, really?

Republicans are pro-life as long as it's a fetus after it's born they are anti-life.  Don't believe me?  Ask the family of the late  Troy Anthony Davis.  Isn't it funny how republicans will trust a woman with a child, but not with a choice?

Attention republican men!  If you are against contraceptives, don't use them.  If you are against abortion don't have one.
