Of Coons and Scumbags 2015

When Sean Hannity has to tell you to dial back the coonery–you have officially earned the title Coon of the Year.

EYE deplore name calling, but sometimes you just have to call a Spade a Spade.   The Angry Black Rant composed a list of the Top 10 Coons of 2015.  In case you are wondering, yes, Coon(s) is a racial slur when non African Americans use it.
2015 was another coontastic year full of black folks doing their latest and greatest “Shuck & Jive” routine to remain in the good graces of mainstream conservative white America. I could go on and on for days about the kind of self loathing self centered and selfish motivations that go into making certain black men and women suspend all manners of pride and common logic while spewing the most embarrassing rhetoric for the sole purpose of ingratiating themselves with the kind of dying breed of thought propagated on Fox news, but I don’t have all day and since we have already said farewell to 2015 I’m going to cut to the chase and share my top 10 Coons of the last 365 day cycle…
Be sure and check out the Honorable Mentions.

Al.com's  Kyle Whitmire asks Who was Alabama's 20156 Scumbag of the Year?   The list was long, but the winner is:
The 2015 Scumbag of the Year is state Sen. Larry Stutts, a freshman lawmaker who a year ago was known only as "that guy who beat Roger Bedford."
Stutts, who is an OBGYN,attempted in his first Legislative session to repeal a law named after a patient who died in his care.
Rose's Law, which requires insurers to cover at least 48 hours of hospital care for new moms, had been passed after the death of Rose Church, a nurse from Haleyville who died after giving birth. Stutts was her doctor.
Stutts didn't tell any of his legislative colleagues about his part in the history of the law. Instead, he characterized it as Obamacare-like intrusion of government into healthcare, and solicited unwitting cosponsors to have it overturned.
Just like republicans to blame Obama for their failures. #BlameItOnTheBlackGuy

So many Coons and Scumbags, so little time.

Meet the new #Segregationist, same as the old #Segregationist, now they are the #media

Segregationists never went away: We just call them "small-government conservatives" now

New Rules:  Instead of standing in the school house door, the new Segregationist sit in front of cameras and microphones while using the public airways to enable media driven racial stereotypes.
It is not simply that Black people are victims of a numbers game. Rather, there has been a wholesale P.R. campaign on the part of those on the right to associate all public goods and services, from public schools to public assistance, with the bodies of undeserving people of color, particularly Blacks and Latinos.
Yep, the white, male dominated, media enables elected officials , and others in position of power and influence, to drive a false narrative.
Any discussion of welfare or public assistance in this country is rife with dog whistles from the right toward the lower elements of their base, who in Pavlovian fashion, respond to code words about welfare and public assistance by conjuring images of the undeserving Black and Brown poor.
Segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever, from sea to shining sea.
In his new book “How Propaganda Works,” Yale philosopher Jason Stanley argues that while a “liberal democratic culture… does not tolerate explicit degradation of its citizens,” there are “apparently innocent words that have the feature of slurs, namely that whenever the words occur in a sentence, they convey the problematic content. The word welfare …conveys a problematic social meaning.” I am suggesting that the word “public” in our political discourse is becoming just such a tool of political propaganda as well.
Who needs George Wallace when we have the media?
Despite bright spots in the mainstream media for representing race and gender diversity, like Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC, the output of the industry largely still appears white and male. Almost 40 percent of the U.S. identifies as nonwhite and women make up more than half of the population, yet popular media outlets largely remain homogenous. Missing diverse perspectives from the media landscape can have wide-ranging detrimental effects.

Faux News Distorting What You Decide Redux #FergusonGrandJury #SandyMcElroy

Before I type another word, let me express my gratitude to the Smoking Gun for being the media I wish we had instead of the media we have.  Thanks to them we know the #FergusonGrandJury was a farce and a fraud.  Thanks to them we know there were two witnesses who said didn't have hands up surrendering. One was not actually there. The other was

Read all about How Fox News Ran with Bogus Testimony Given to the Grand Jury
On December 8, St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch released additional details about the grand jury documents his office made public last month after no charges were brought against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown. As a result, more details have come to light showing that the testimony of one particular grand jury witness was a sham—testimony that was repeatedly touted by Fox News' Sean Hannity and other pundits who defended Wilson and the grand jury's decision.
It ought to be against the law to give bogus testimony to the Grand Jury.

Oh wait.....
Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, was impeached by the House of Representatives on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice, on December 19, 1998. Two other impeachment articles, a second perjury charge and a charge of abuse of power, failed in the House. He was acquitted of both charges by the Senate on February 12, 1999.[1]

The Struggle Continues

I don't feel noways tired after the struggle for justice for Trayvon Martin.  But I have to ask, why African Americans have to struggle for basic equal, civil and human rights in the land of the free and the home of the brave?

I place much of the blame on the white male dominated  mainstream media.   When the Trayvon Martin story finally hit the national media Al Sharpton, President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and others who led the fight for simple justice became the targets of racial hatred.

What get me is conservative don't believe black folks should have the same rights as white folks.  When Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee and State Attorney Norm Wolfinger said there would be no arrest in the Trayvon Martin case that was the end of story, and black folks were supposed to just say Yessir Massa  Suh weeze won't be asking for no justice, weeze just shuffle on off into the sunset like good little effing coons.

 Not.

So where do we go from here?

We keep our eyes on the prize and struggle on.

We must remember that this problem is must bigger than Zimmerman. What about the Sanford Police Department that let Zimmerman go free? What about the continuing systemic and nationwide problem of racial profiling? What about racial differences in charging and sentencing? What about those ridiculous “stand your ground” laws in over 20 states?

Friday Photo Blog with Commentary

H/T Leftwing Nutjob via Progressive Soup Welcome to my Blogroll!

This is the latest  gop pResidential debate in a nutshell, 4 white guys with the access to the best health care their millions can buy telling millions of Americans who don't have access to quality, affordable health care they don't need access to health care because it's ObamaCare.

This is the new face of the gop.  And she felt threatened by the President of the United States of America because he's a scary African American man surrounded by the Secret Service?  ROFLMAO!

Racism Chasing?  I report.  You decide.

Did you know Sean Hannity got his start in Alabama?  Are you surprised Hannity helps promote Newt Gingirchs foodstamp attack on President Obama?  Naaahh.  He's just helping Gingrich find his race card.
Happy Friday!
