Real Democrats are damned if they do and damned if they don't re-elect Obama

I've been following an interesting discussion over at jackandjillpolitics.com sparked by author Anson Asaka, who explains why he's voting for Obama in 2012 although he disagrees with him on important issues
I am convinced that he is far more concerned about the plight of the unemployed, the poor, the working class and the middle class than the Republican opposition. Therefore, I plan to vote for Obama in 2012. The Republicans will only take this nation backwards. We need to move forward.

Excuse me, but how can President Obama move the country forward when republicans, enabled by the media, create a road block and effectively obstruct his agenda?

So what's a real democrat, not to be confused with so call progressives, to do?

Continue to vote for the lessor of two evils?

Continue to be taken for granted and prostituted by the democratic party?

Vote for the Green Party or some other candidate?

Write in our own name or some other person on the ballot?

Stay at home on election day (which is just like voting for the republican)?

What dthomas_85 said;
If more people started to do this--especially African Americans--then maybe a larger independent left-wing movement can be slowly created, and maybe the Democrats would start taking the concerns of supposed Liberals more seriously instead of forcing them to wipe their chins and walk away after their nefarious actions.

Ya think?

I'm still trying to figure out how in the hell we got in this messed up situation, much less figure out how we are going to get out of it. Maybe if we had some courageous leaders instead of some praying leaders we wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe if the powers that be listened to the Professional Left instead of suppressing the Professional Left we could make progress and move the country forward.
The White House is simmering with anger at criticism from liberals who say President Obama is more concerned with deal-making than ideological purity.

During an interview with The Hill in his West Wing office, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs blasted liberal naysayers, whom he said would never regard anything the president did as good enough
.

Now how in the world did constructive criticism from liberals who say President Obama is more concerned with deal-making than ideological purity translates into liberals would never regard anything the President did as good enough? I mean, really?

"Do you vote for the sane candidate who I believe is being misadvised, or do you vote for a lunatic Republican?"

I guess I'll have to vote for the sane candidate who I believe is being misadvised. But are they really sane if they put themselves in the situation where they are misadvised?

Winning elections is irrelevant if those who win those elections essentially keep things the same and you voted for change.~ dthomas_85

Amen and Amen.
