What do you do when democracy in action becomes democracy in secret?

I am convinced elected members of the Huntsville City School Board developed amnesia, think we (tax payers) have amnesia, or both.  They must think we have forgotten the history we are doomed to repeat.

What do you do when public business is conducted behind closed doors via email, with board members meeting in private, then voting in public?

What do you do when they refuse to answer questions, address concerns/criticisms in public, or in private, and stack  the Citizens Comment deck?

What do you do when they resort to name calling, personal attacks, insults and worse to those who dare speak out?

What do you do when there are is no recourse  and no grievance policy against the board or the Superintendent?

What do you do when they hide behind the letter of law and intimidate the public?

What do you do when parents are afraid to send their children to school?

What do you do when you have the best board of education money can buy?

The sad truth is there is nothing we can do because we fell for the lies dressed up as campaign promises.  Once elected they forgot who elected them, and who they are supposed to be working for. This is why elections matter and why every vote counts.
