Paraquoting Dr. Showers, the alleged ethics violations are a weapon of mass distraction. They took nothing and made it something.
It's easier to investigate and convict the politicians who are not afraid to take a stand and speak out than it is to cure the reasons they stand up and speak out.

It is a shame some other agenda had to come up besides giving 10 gallons of gas to a daughter and compensating the City, no harm/no foul. It was a stressful, apocalyptic time. We take care of our own, and he gave up his allottment to his daughter.
Now that is an ethics issue?

Yep, they treated Councilman Richard Showers like a boy.
He acted like a boy, he broke the rules and now is whining. His daughter was not entitled to city gas. Period.
You can make this a race issue all you want, no one cares Showers is black.
