So you've probably heard by now about how MSNBC suspended the dickslayer, Mark Halperin. A suspension was warranted, but that's hardly the real story. I've been talking about the loser pundits who inhabit our airwaves ever since I started blogging. I've also cried for some real journalism out of cable instead of an environment where lies are allowed to swirl around sacrosanct.
This is The media we have – the arena the public has traditionally relied on to provide accurate, timely, unbiased, newsworthy information has proved incapable of fulfilling its mission. For a host of reasons to numerous to go into here, the media now provides more opinions than facts and tends to focus on confrontation rather than information. For example, three years after the largest economic meltdown in recent history the majority of Americans still don’t understand the true causes of the crisis and the media has done little to explain it.

President Obama paid a visit to the Senate Republican Conference today to have a direct give-and-take on current issues like immigration, the oil spill, and financial reform. Though Obama called the meeting "a good, frank discussion on a whole range of issues," and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said it was "a good exchange, a candid exchange," some people were left more bitter than before. "The more he talked, the more he got upset," said Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas. “He needs to take a Valium before he comes in and talks to Republicans and just calm down, and don’t take anything so seriously."

I have to say I'm pretty terrified about the short term future of our politics. Republicans are attacking the ability of ordinary people to affect elections in three distinct ways; voter suppression, attacking unions and by dismantling campaign finance laws.

Mo Brooks, a Republican Alabama representative will do anything short of shooting undocumented immigrants. This means ripping and forcing families apart. The Republican party has been hijacked by bigotry. Mo Brooks is a perfect example of it. Each day that passes, the “Big Tent” party is starting to lose it’s salt. The hate and bigotry is rearing it’s ugly head in the south. The old dixiecrat south.
Here's the deal. Not all Hispanics in Alabama are undocumented, uneducated, laborers. Some of Doctors, lawyers, bankers, educators and other professionals. All it's going to take is for Boss Hoggs or Bubba to profile one of them, or their son/daughter/wife/aunt/uncle/cousin and treat them like an Aborigine and It. Will. Be. On. Like. Tyrone.
To bad Congressman Anthony Weiner didn't call blacks Aborigines, Obama a D*#k, and talk about shooting illegals. He might still be in Congress.

Last year, four black Skidmore College students yelled racial slurs while they beat up a white man because he was dining with a black man. Skidmore College's first response was to offer counseling to one of the black students charged with the crime. In 2009, a black Columbia University professor assaulted a white woman during a heated argument about race relations. According to interviews and court records obtained and reported by Denver's ABC affiliate (12/4/2009), black gangs roamed downtown Denver verbally venting their hatred for white victims before assaulting and robbing them during a four-month crime wave. Earlier this year, four black girls beat a white girl at a McDonald's, and the victim suffered a seizure. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel ordered an emergency shutdown of the beaches in Chicago because mobs of blacks were terrorizing families. On Memorial Day weekend, there were riots in Charlotte, Rochester, Nashville, Miami, Myrtle Beach and Boston. Last Friday, fighting broke out at Brighton Beach in New York City, where five people were shot and a young girl was killed. Flash mobs have been attacking people in Chicago on the streets and on public buses. The common thread? All of the mobs were black youths — and there’s been a concerted effort by the media to ignore that reality.
Toward what end? Sparing America from a having a real conversation about race? Here’s what the see-no-evil crowd doesn’t want to talk about: there’s a thug element in the black American community which has been glorified for years. The seed was planted during the Johnson administration, which spawned the Great Society and the massive expansion of the welfare state.
Despite all protestations to the contrary, that expansion destroyed the basic underpinning of any civilized society, namely the nuclear family. Nowhere has that destruction been more prevalent than in the black American community, which now boasts an out-of-wedlock birthrate of 72 percent.
It’s not as if no one saw it coming. Daniel Patrick Moynihan predicted that America would pay profound consequences for “defining deviancy down,” specifically citing the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program as the prime culprit. Before the advent of the Great Society, AFDC had been reserved for widows, as a means of funding once-married women who had lost the primary male supporter of the family. In the 1960s, president Johnson and Congress changed the qualifications: any household where there was no male family head present became eligible for taxpayer subsidies.
Moynihan knew exactly where this was leading as far back as 1966: ”From the wild Irish slums of the 19th-century Eastern seaboard, to the riot-torn suburbs of Los Angeles,” he wrote, ”there is one unmistakable lesson in American history: a community that allows large numbers of young men to grow up in broken families, dominated by women, never acquiring any stable relationship to male authority, never acquiring any set of rational expectations about the future–that community asks for and gets chaos. Crime, violence, unrest, disorder…are not only to be expected, they are very near to inevitable. And they are richly deserved.”
What did Moynihan get for his prescience? Excoriation. He was charged with being a racist and for “blaming the victim.” What did America get? A semi-permanent underclass in every major urban center in the country — one that one of the greatest transfers of wealth in the history of the country hasn’t even remotely begun to correct through the so-called “war on poverty,” which LBJ declared in 1964 and was the primary rationale for establishing the Great Society. In fact, the poverty rate, which dropped substantially between 1959 and 1969, has remained remarkably consistent since, in terms of percentages, and hit a 15-year high in 2009.

All efforts to raise black test scores have been a dismal failure. Take a look at the figure below. The Atlanta public schools are 83% black. The money spent per student is 45% above the state average. Massive amounts of white tax dollars from the rest of Georgia is being diverted to Atlanta so the blacks students can have the best of everything.
Despite this massive over-funding, the black-white achievement gap has remained the same. All claims that the Atlanta school system has improved has turned out to be a fraud.

A state investigation released Tuesday showed rampant, systematic cheating on test scores in this city’s long-troubled public schools, ending two years of increasing skepticism over remarkable improvements touted by school leaders.
The results of the investigation, made public by Gov. Nathan Deal, showed that the cheating occurred at 44 schools and involved at least 178 teachers and principals, almost half of whom have confessed, the governor said.
A culture of fear, intimidation and retaliation existed in the district, which led to a conspiracy of silence, he said in a prepared statement. “There will be consequences,” Mr. Deal said.
That will certainly include dismissals, according to school board members and the interim superintendent, Erroll B. Davis Jr., and could possibly result in criminal charges.
The findings of the investigation, which was conducted by a former state attorney general and a former county district attorney, will be delivered to district attorneys in three counties where cheating most likely took place.
Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta called the release of the investigation “a dark day for the Atlanta public school system.”
