I wish President Obama were a real Dick, really I do.

Senior Morning Joke Joker Mark Halprin was *ahem* suspended for saying President Obama acted like a "Dick" because he dared call out the TeaPublicans for destroying the world yesterday. This is the same Mark Halprin who said he didn't know if President Obama was a citizen or not. Oh well, at least he didn't call President Obama an Aborigine. Call me crazy but it sounds like another racist dog whistle to me.

Anyhoo, I wish President Obama were a Dick, then maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. I don't mean a Bush Dick, a Cheney Dick, or a Bohner Dick (pun intended). I mean a Lyndon Baines Johnson Dick, a Franklin D. Roosevelt Dick, an Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Dick or an Anthony Wiener Dick (no pun). You know, the kind of Dick that kicked butt and took names for the little guys and gals.

Please be a Dick Mr. President.
Please Dick the republicans.
Dick them hard.
They hate us for our freedoms.

In my lifetime, at least, President Obama is the only president that it's okay to disrespect, not because of his liberal policies, it seems, but because of his color.

If you're black, it appears, people will tolerate all kind of off-color remarks. If you're black and the president of the United States, you not only have a license to be disrespectful, but are applauded, and rewarded, in some circles, for the disrespect.

Saying, "You lie," to the president, brought Joe Wilson much needed notoriety, and money for his war chest, and saying the president "has a deep-seated hatred for white people," and is, himself a "racist," kick-started Glenn Becks' short run on Fox News.

It would have been longer, had folks like Colorofchange, and Rev. Al Sharpton, not hammer away at Beck's sponsors.

If certain whites can, with impunity, attack the president without regard for the office, then we needn't be shocked when someone uses that hatred to draw a bead on him.

I agree, he needs more testicular fortitude and at he right time. Not 6 months to late. He needs to go in the Press conference one morning and slap some folks.

On the other hand, a Republican politician of any importance can spend his entire life attending a culturally and socially homogenous church and have not one soul call him out for being "racist". It's really about Obama attending the church of an outspoken black figure who will not tone down his views for acceptable consumption by a largely homogenous white public.

Conservatives will support fellow Conservatives because they are Conservatives, and Conservatives should stick together no matter what.* The irony of this is how conservatives will take the preceeding sentence, replace "conservatives" with "blacks", and proceed to charge blacks with "racism", especially when it involves Obama. I guess they're still miffed at how the GOP can't ever seem to get blacks to vote in lockstep for them, no matter how many black conservative figures they put into play -- hence the talk about the "Democrat Plantation" and whatnot. The GOP wishes they could have a plantation of their very own.

The blatant disrespect of Obama by numerous conservative politicians is simply a combination of conservatives showing their disdain for a Democrat political figure and a number of those same conservatives expressing how Negros, especially those in high office, still have no rights which any white man is bound to respect.

* Unless they make themselves so thoroughly unappealing to their fellow Conservatives that the only option left is to distance themselves from them and not bring them up anymore in polite company.

I read that line and thought "assassination attempt". I wouldn't put it past these assholes.

God help this nation if one ends up a success. It may very well end up being the thing that kills racial/ethnic relations in this country, let alone any attempts to improve on them. It'll also end up killing the GOP, unless they lead the Tea Party to the slaughter as the nation's sacrificial lamb in its time of need. And it'll lead to a number of other things, including the ushering in of the proverbial "man on horseback", who'll proceed to "aid the nation in its time of need" by completing America's transition from "republic" to full-on "empire".

Mack, with all the incendiary rhetoric of late, much of it leveled at this president, we would be remiss not to question motives.

I raised the possibility in this blog entry, Why Guns: "To Prepare For Tough Times...That's Why."

"God help this nation if one ends up a success."

My conclusion and sentiment exactly. It would push race relations in this country back 200 years.

And it would take another 200 years to rebuild trust, and mutual respect.

For all the nastiness that I see on many blogs, we're only an assassination, or an assassination attempt, away from undoing years of mutual social progress--as slight as that has been in some quarters.
