And, besides, they say, as long as Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) is still walking the halls of the Capitol, why should the left be forced to lose one of its most ardent supporters?
It's not clear how far this will develop. Defending Wiener is not something many are willing to do. But for some progressives, the response to Wiener is another sign of the Democratic party letting its left wing down.

How is the new Alabama law/bill racist? It is in place to make Alabama better..to save tax payers millions of dollars we spend on welfare,health care, schools to teach the illegals etc!! They are committing a crime by being here illegal! I know what about the taxes they bring to the state. I am willing to lose that tax because with all the wasted money we still come out ahead! There will also be jobs open, chicken plants, lawn care,cinram etc. Then the lazy people (who are able to work) who collect welfare can take those jobs saving even more more for Alabama. Most liberals and democrats need to look up the word Illegal to see what it means. ILLEGAL ALIEN-A crime is committed when you are illegal!!!!!!!

Now that we have passed a law in Alabama finally making illegal aliens ILLEGAL aliens -- much different than their status last year, 10 years ago, 50 years ago -- when they were just illegal aliens -- hats off to our Republican legislature for legalizing racial profiling in public and in our schools -- nothing racist about that.
If a carload of white guys can't prove they are citizens, do you think they will be calling from Mexico? No, just the brown ones. If a school needs to budget proration, just ask for the brown kids legal status (and of course their parents who have the audacity to think they can take advantage of US).
We got the brown people covered, next let's work on the black people. Any time 2 or more gather together it's a gang or a mob. After all, history and world conditions show us the criminal nature of the black race. Facts don't lie! We need to build more prisons and lock up the rest of them!

Editors for the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and now the Chicago Tribune have all issued public statements admitting to deliberately censoring information about black crime for political reasons.
Chicago Tribune editor Gerould Kern stated that the paper conceals and downplays black crime so as to “guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion.” In other words, the paper deliberately attempts to keep white people in the dark about rampant black on white crime. This of course puts members of the public in increased danger of being a victim of a crime. Leftists like Kern believe that protecting the diversity fantasy is more important that informing the public about crime. The statement by Kern is very similar to recent statements by editors of the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times.

This week the Chicago Tribune published several news stories and related columns about assaults by groups of youths in the Streeterville area of downtown Chicago. More coverage appears Sunday.
A number of readers have asked why we have not included racial descriptions of the assailants and the victims in these incidents.
We take these matters seriously and reach decisions about them after careful consideration. This is a good opportunity to explain our approach to issues like these.
We do not reference race unless it is a fact that is central to telling the story.
By all indication, these attacks were motivated by theft, not race. Further, there is no evidence to suggest that the victims were singled out because of their race. Therefore we did not include racial descriptions in our initial news reports. [It is extremely unlikely that Kern actually believes what he wrote here. An all black mob goes on a rampage and attacks only white victims in a city that is less than 30% white. Kern is being transparently disingenuous. ]
There are circumstances when race may be relevant, such as describing a criminal suspect being sought by police. But this description must be accompanied by other detailed information, such as height, weight, scars, clothing, etc. By adhering to this practice, we guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion because of the color of their skin.
SPLC sues overwhelmingly black run school district for allegedly abusing students.
The SPLC is a radical left-wing fund-raising hustle, which has been denounced as a fraud even by major left-wing publications. Its founder, Morris Dees, has served as fund-raising chief for Ted Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and George McGovern. He is one of the highest paid “not for profit” execs in the nation. His palace-like mansion was recently profiled in the Montgomery Advertiser and looks like the dwelling of a Saudi Prince. The organization raises about $15 million a year by hustling outlandish claims of “white racism.”
The SPLC files extremely few actual lawsuits. However, the SPLC has just sued an overwhelmingly black (both in students and faculty) school district for mistreating some black students. In other words, when the SPLC went looking for cases of blacks being mistreated, the best example they could find was blacks allegedly being mistreated by other blacks. So much for the make believe hordes of evil white racists that the SPLC claims exist.
The Jackson Public School District is so dominated by blacks, that even the logo for the district is based off of a red/yellow/green tri-color flag, mimicking the flags of eight different sub-Saharan African nations.
Let’s take a look at the district. The District board of trustees is 86% black. The superintendent is black. Every single teacher we found pictured on their website is black.
The specific school that the SPLC is suing the district over is called Capitol City Alternative School. This is a special school for students who have already been held back at least two years. The JPS website advertises it as a “pre-GED” program, and says that you must be at least 17 years old and have attempted to pass the 9th grade at least once to enroll. In other words, this black run district is such a disaster that it needs an entire school just to house all the 17+ year old High School Freshman!!!!
This school does not publish its racial makeup. We can only confirm that the principal is a black woman. However we looked at published data for twelve different schools in this district. We found percentages ranging from 87% black to 100% black. In fact most of the schools are listed as either 98% or 100% black. The school we found that is only 87% black is a special school set aside for some of the best performing students in the district.
The SPLC lawsuit names thirteen defendants. The JPS Board of Trustees, Superintendent Dr. Lonnie Edwards, and Director of Security Glenn Davis. The suit also names Capital City Principal Marie Harris, Vice Principal Bobby Walden and school safety officers Franklin McKee and Stacey Greenwood. Of these thirteen people we can only confirm the races of eight. Seven of those eight are black. It is extremely likely that the remaining five are all black as well.
The SPLC says that the lawsuit is part of an ongoing effort to protect “students of color” in Mississippi. This is an “initiative” the SPLC says it has been working on for the past six years. In other words, the SPLC is saying that the most mistreated black students they could find are going to an overwhelming black school, run by blacks, in an overwhelming black district, run by black administrators. After years of searching for mythological evil white racists oppressing young blacks, the SPLC sues one of the most black run school districts in the nation.
This lawsuit confirms and supports everything the CofCC has been saying for years. Black mistreatment at the hands of white people is a non-existent myth. White people are collectively bending over backwards to appease black people. Any real instances of blacks being harmed is overwhelming caused by other blacks.
This lawsuit also flies in the face of the SPLC’s established views and claims. It is an admission that their own rhetoric and outlandish claims of white racist hordes victimizing blacks are just fantasies used to collect donations.
If PEOPLE are in the country illegally it's with a nod, nod, wink, wink, from OUR government.

You have often said that, because Mexicans are "doing jobs Americans won't do", you won't enforce the laws on immigration that you swore an oath to uphold.
I thought you needed some enlightenment, so the following is an actual, nearly word-for-word record conversation I had recently while filling my gas tank in Danbury, Connecticut.
At the next pump, a fellow was filling his truck's tank. On the door was the name of a landscaping business. I asked him if competition from competitors who hire illegal aliens was damaging his business.
With not another word from me, his volunteered response was:
"No, I used to get 'em through a contractor at $30.00 per hour. He'd get fifteen and they'd get fifteen. Then he disappeared. Now I get 'em direct. Fifteen per hour is a lot to pay for someone who doesn't speak English, doesn't have a social security card, isn't paying taxes and is here illegally."
Imagine George, all that information offered freely. To paraphrase our conversation:
Me: "How's business?"
Him: "I'm a crook evading the law, hiring other crooks and all together we evade immigration, income taxes, workmen's comp, unemployment taxes. And I'm mad because I'm not making more money."
George, isn't this a wonderful country? You refuse to enforce the law, and millions refuse to obey it.

It's too late for "them" to leave the country and become a citizen the right (pun intended) way. It's too late to fine employers and people who house them. republicans are trying to un ring a bell.
The solution is a path to citizenship for those already here and bringing our troops and tax dollars home from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya to secure or borders and to protect and defend America.
I disagree with the ILLEGALS but do agree with the soldiers! We could put them on the border! Then we could STOP welfare....YEAH YEAH...
