Please, Casey WARdynski, "Let My People Go"

Principal fired
Superintendent Dr. Casey Wardynski answers questions from the press following Thursday night's Huntsville school board meeting. (The Huntsville Times/Michael Mercier)

Superintendent Dr. Casey Wardynski is doing the job he was hired to do.
Casey you have to break the mold and prove you're not afraid of minorities, democrats, liberals, aclu (sic) types and the entire entitlement crowd! Do that, and you'll be doing the job you were hired to do! Oh yeah, not to mention striking down all racial transfers. And that includes allowing not allowing whites to racially transfer either. If you don't like where your child goes to school, move to where they can be zoned into a school of your preference, that's what I had to do!

In the Sunday, January 29,2012 edition of The Huntsville Times, school board member David Blair is quoted as saying the superintendent is doing what he was hired to to.  That may be true, however the current members of the Board of Education aren't doing what WE THE VOTERS hired YOU to do.  But I digress.

 The districts goal?
Getting Huntsville City Schools out from under a desegregation order from 40 years ago and achieving unity.
And how does the Mighty Casey go about achieving such unity?  By closing one failing school and combining it with another so called failing school, building a new school that no one asked for, violating the rules to change the name against the wishes of the community, and,  to add insult to injury,  locate the new school .06 miles from an active rock quarry, in spite of air quality concerns.

Now this doesn't sound like achieving unity to me, as the late great James Brown said, it sounds more like The Big Pay Back to me.
Once segregated by law, school systems across the country are coming out from under federal scrutiny at an increasingly faster rate, retiring desegregation court orders from the civil rights era.
But once free of such orders, those same systems are likely to see rising segregation levels among white and black students.

And that's especially true in elementary grades and in Southern states, according to a comprehensive study published in the current issue of the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management.
He who controls the message controls the outcome.

WOW. He has done a good job. The failing schools have the same qualified teachers as the non failing schools! They also get more money, more programs etc etc and yet they still fail. Why? MOST of the students could care less about education. Many have the entitlement mentality and sit back and let "the man" take care of them. Their is no pride in the communities in those areas from MOST! Living the thug life is what most students want to do!

What evidence do you have that "the failing schools have the same qualified teachers as the non failing schools? As for the more money, I assume you are talking about federal Title I dollars, which means local and state taxes are cut from these schools. There is plenty of pride in the community and no one wants the "the man" to take care of them because when "the man" takes care of "them" we get a school we didn't ask for, a name we don't want, and a school located .06 miles from an active rock quarry. So who is really living the "thug life"?

MOST of the kids do not want to learn! MOST have no structured home life that helps them learn. It is not cool to be smart and want to do good in school! If it's not the students fault then whos fault is it? The WHITE MAN? LOL the answer is NO!

My sister teaches in a failing school in Huntsville. She taught four years in a passing school in Huntsville. She has been at a failing school for three years now. She said it was night and day.The kids in the passing school did have some problems, ie skipping, fights, back talk etc but no where near the level at the failing school. She was never cussed out daily, NEVER had sexual comments made toward here, never been threatened due to giving a bad grade at the passing school but she did at the failing school. She said the 80% of the problems at the passing school were from the transfers that came from the failing schools!MOST kids at the failing school show less interest in learning, she can rarely get parent participation in the failing schools but had plenty in the passing school! I could go on and on.

Maybe your sister needs to transfer to a "passing school" and let someone who cares about the students take her place in the "failing" school. Someone who believes that every child can learn with the right approach.

REALLY? That is why she is there trying to help. I just told you the differences that I hear her talk about but yet you twist it like you do 99% of all the topics you wrote about. I for one believe that the failing schools start with the student! They either want to learn are they do not. NO amount of love, begging, money or programs can make a student learn. They can help but it starts with the student!!The failing schools show that MOST of those students at the failing schools have made their choice and that's why those schools continue to fail!!!!!!!!!

Really? How is your sister trying to help? Sounds like to me she's already made up her mind the children can't be helped.

They can be helped but only if they want to be helped and most do not!!!

Again, your sister needs to transfer to a school where most want to be helped.
