B-But "All Lives Matter"....... #PaulONeal

Videos from the fatal shooting of teenager Paul O'Neal by Chicago police show officers firing down a street as O'Neal sped away from them in a reportedly stolen car and, moments later, officers handcuffing O'Neal as he lay mortally wounded behind a South Shore home.

"Get down! Hands behind your back! You shot at us, mother------!"
Moments later, officers curse at 18-year-old Paul O'Neal as they put him in handcuffs as he lies face down. Hands behind his back, his arms appear limp. The back of his shirt is covered in blood. An officer holds his foot on O'Neal's leg. Another holds down the mortally wounded man's head.

THIS is the enduring image from the police execution of unarmed teenager #PaulONeal in Chicago.

Police giving each other fives afterwards.

The autopsy showed that Paul was shot in the back.

#BlackLives Matter NOT in the United States of America

  tattered flag

tattered flag

Losing Our Humanity We are no longer the United States, we are the divided states of rich and poor, educated and uneducated, black and white, gay and straight, hateful and hated.

1.5 Million Black Men are Missing. These ‘missing’ black men aren’t on the back of milk cartons and they haven’t been kidnapped. According to the Times, they’re missing from society because they’re either dead or in jail:

Unbelievable  Jail Sentence of White Girls who Hunted Blacks in Mississippi.   Here’s a video from the The Young Turks. Please advised there is footage of the murder and it very disturbing.

A Judge Just Let A Cop Walk After a Deadly Shooting of an unarmed women in ChicagoServin was off duty when he fired the shots. He encountered a group gathered in an alley while driving through in his Mercedes sedan. As he drove the wrong way down the alley after an altercation, he said he thought he saw one of the men reach for a gun and fired several shots over his shoulder at individuals who had their backs to Servin. Servin hit 22-year-old Rekia Boyd in the back of the head, killing her.

Baltimore Man Dead Following Police Encounter was Stopped for Making Eye Contact with the Police.   "Running while black is not probable cause. Felony running doesn't exist, and you can't arrest someone for looking you in the eye. You have to believe he committed a crime and have an objective basis for that belief. They had none of that."
As I watch us losing our humanity daily, I am disappointed in my country. We are allowing extremists to set the agenda. The lunatics aren’t running the asylum; they have scaled the walls, busted down the doors, crawled out of the windows, and they are among us. Cindy Rose

RedEye's Monday Morning Meltdown #WhitePrivilege #ChapelHillShooting #PatelAlabama #JackieRobinsonWest #HBCU #Selma #LorettaLynch

EYE am back! Did you miss me?  EYE am playing catch up, but here are some issues that caught my EYE to get the ball rolling.

A 57 year old grandfather from India,  Blogger Legal Schnauzer and three Muslim students discover what it's like to be black/brown in America.  Welcome to our world.

What's that you say?  Stripping the Jackie Robinson League of the their title is all about race?  I'm shocked!  Shocked I tell you!  NOT.
Given the racial politics of Chicago and a few of it’s surrounding suburbs, having one mostly white team start a witch hunt against an all black team just smells of racist attitudes.  I rarely use the term racist because often times people act on their ignorance based on prejudices and bigotry, but racist ideals and sensibilities often present themselves in larger ways that affect the metanarrative; it’s hard to label a person racist when so much of the system is slanted and a preferential treatment is automatically given to whites.  Operating in white privilege often means the subconscious, and perhaps unintentional discrimination of denial of persons of color, but in this case it is clearly intentional on not just the denial, but the removal of an earned prize and more importantly, the title.
I can't believe  HBCU's(Historically Black Colleges and Universities) are being criticized by the first African American President of the United States of America.  Strike that.  YesEYECan.   So much for Hope  for  Change we can  Believe  in.

Say it ain't so Joe! Lorretta Lynch is Codoleeza Rice with a law degree and the Senate committee is delaying a vote to confirm her

No keener an observer than Thurgood Marshall has rightfully made the point that, with the exception of Abraham Lincoln, no other president in American history did more for the equal rights of African Americans than Lyndon - not Jack Kennedy, not Bill Clinton (the first "black" president) not even Barack Obama! In fact, Obama's presidency owes its very existence to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, both of which were signed into law by Johnson. I know it's fashionable these days to portray half-witted presidents from Texas in the most negative light (I'm guilty of that, believe me); it's just that Lyndon B. Johnson and George W. Bush just aren't in the same league - it's not even close. Think of it as comparing apples with decomposing ravens.

This is one of those rare times I agree with Mo Brooks

A broke clock is right (no pun) twice a day.

"Lessons learned from War: 1.) The rich will profit from it, 2.) The Middle Class will pay for it. 3.) The Poor will suffer from it 4.) The Innocent will die from it....."

I must admit I was feeling helpless watching  some of the same ones that marched us to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, beating the Deja Voodoo drums all over again for war with Syria, but then Mo Brooks saved the day  issuing the following statement via his mouthpiece.
Dale Jackson @TheDaleJackson
Just got off the phone with @RepMoBrooks, he wants @BarackObama to wait until Congress returns in 10 days to debate military action in Syria
Hallelujah!  Here comes Congress to save the Day!  Everybody knows if President Barack Obama is for it, republicans are against it, and this is one of those rare times I agree with the TeaPublicans.  We shouldn't be spending money we don't have attacking Syria.  I bet even  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be against drones dropping bombs on innocent people.

Maybe we should help the Syrian Refugees instead of killing Syrians
If, as Juan Cole recommends, Obama decides to pivot and move to diplomacy after losing British support, focusing on the plight of refugees and using our airlift to send them aid would be smart politics as well as good policy.
We have our own problems over here, I wish the Obama Administration would be as Hawkish about domestic issues as they are foreign affairs.

Shouldn't the problems in Detroit ChicagoNew Orleans health care and the economy come before killing more people in Syria?

Hell Yes, they should!

"Let's have an up or down vote and put these hypocrites on record. "

Chicago: Wild Onions to the Windy City

Jean Baptiste Pointe Du Sable (1745-1818) was the first person to permanently settle and irrigate Chicago, then a land called Eschikago or 'land of wild onions' by the semi-nomadic Potawatomi tribe.
Du Sable was born on the Island of Haiti. His father was a French Sea Captain and his mother an ex-slave. Du Sable was educated in France before settling in America with his Native American bride, Catherine. Du Sable went on to be a successful pioneer and entrepreneur establishing the first permanent trading post on the Chicago River in 1779. He was officially recognized in 1968 by the State of Illinois for having been the Founder of Chicago.

Pandering to the gun crowd is so not cool

What The Field Negro said all the damn way!

I don't like the imagery, O. Pandering to the gun nut crowd is not cool. A picture of you at Hadiya Pendelton's funeral would have been more like what I wanted to see. That, and a stirring eulogy along with a call for all of us in the black community to start taking responsibility for our children. You should be working overtime from the bully pulpit on that issue, but instead you are trying to prove to wingnuts that you actually shoot skeets every now and then. *scratching my very bald head*

Skeet shooting and bowling? Man the things you do to make some folks love you

Psst President Obama!  Who ever advised you to release a picture of you shooting a gun to pander to the Skeeters needs to see how it feels to be among the unemployed and the under employed.

They don't like you.

They will never like you.
The gun control debate is not about how well, or even if Obama can shoot. It's about all the fools running around with weapons of war in an alleged civilized society. That's all it's ever been. Except when it turns racial, like now, when the focus is on Obama's “manliness” or when Black Panthers were legally carrying weapons in public, back in the day. Talk about about faces, the NRA nearly gave itself whiplash back peddling on guns in public when black men took to the streets peacefully inside their own neighborhoods. The panthers didn't kill anybody, but the government declared open season and killed them.
It's not about YOU.  It's not about THEM.  It's about our COUNTRY.   The sooner you and your staff remember that, we ALL will be better off.
What we are witnessing in America's cities is what one mayor has called "slow motion mass murder." The response from the federal government to address the daily death toll must be comprehensive and, most importantly, must be backed up with local law enforcement resources so that parents in cities like Chicago bury less of their children every year.

It was the week before Christmas 2012~RedEye's version

It was the week before Christmas 2012  and all through this blog are pictures and posts about death, dying, guns,  funerals, and childrenSigh

It was the week before Christmas 2012  and NRA shooter in chief Wayne La Pierre basically said:  Hey America, you can have my guns when you pry them from my cold, dead, hands.  Guns don't kill people,  politicians, the media, movies, music videos, and violent video games, kill people.

It was the week before Christmas 2012 when the call for sensible gun control legislation created an economic stimulus for gun/ammo sellers, where white men (and some white women) everywhere clung to their guns in case the African American President   gets uppity and will try and disarm them of their weapons of mass destruction.  Call me crazy,  but the last time white folks started arming themselves and screaming about daring to defend their rights we had this little thingy called The Civil War.

It was the week before Christmas 2012 when conservative republican congress critter, turned TeeVee Talking Pundit Head,  Joe Scarborough ripped tea-party backed Tim Huelskamp (R.KS) a new one for saying mass shootings with assault weapons is a people problem.

It was the week before Christmas2012 when those on the right accused those on the left of hating the 2nd Amendment,  with calls for arming school teachers, principals, and office staff.  Mind you, these are the same public school teachers etc. they consider to be  an enemy of the state under *ahem* normal circumstances.

It was the week before Christmas 2012 when the republican party finally drove the clown car over the cliff, proving they hate President Obama and democrats more than they love our country.
We need a new governing coalition in the House - Democrats and those few sane Republicans willing to put country before ideology.
I believe even the impossible is possible when we all work together for what is right. Wishing all of you Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love during the holiday season and beyond. ~ RedEye

Disarm America Too! ~Update

http://cbschicago.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/aliyah-shell-0318.jpg
Six year old Aliyah Shell was one10 victims of gun violence in Chicago in one weekend

My heart goes out to the parents of the children killed in Newtown, Conn.  I can only imagine their pain. I don't want to diminish the significance of their suffering, and I know I am going to be accused of playing the race card, but.... now that  20 innocent white children died because  another privileged white boy took his parents weapons and acted out, can we disarm America too?

Did you know there were more young people are killed in Chicago than any other American city?   No.  The young people killed in Chicago were black and poor,  victims of black on black crime.  As long as blacks are killing each other, it's a non issue.

Are black on black youth who kill in cold blood called troubled?  No, they are called dangerous minorities.

Remember when Bush and Company told us they were sending our troops to Iraq disarm Saddam Hussein because they had proof of stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, and, because he gassed his own people?

Are we safe yet?

What if Desmonte Leonard claims the Stand Your Ground defense?

The Auburn Police Chief signed 3 warrants charging Desmonte Leonard (above) with capital murder.
Let me begin by expressing my deepest sympathy to the parents, friends, and relatives of the deceased and injured young people involved in the tragedy in Auburn.  It's every parents worst nightmare to send their students off to college and have them return home in a body bag,

I also want to express my sympathy to the parents, friends and relatives of Desmonte Leonard (not to be confused with sympathy for Desmonte Leonard) for the pain they are suffering as the result of his actions.  It's also every parents nightmare to have your child be the focus of a police manhunt, accused of a heinous crime.  It's a tragedy.

Never let it be said black folks don't speak out against black on black crime like the Auburn tragedy.  I submit we could stop a lot of the black on black crime if the white law makers and their lobbyist pals didn't make guns more accessible than a quality public education, and give black folks a license to kill each other,

Maybe if all the people at the pool party had been armed they could have protected themselves from Desmonte Leonard.  Snark

It's not an Auburn University Football problem, it's an easy access to guns problem.

That said, as some of you may know, Alabama has the Stand Your Ground defense, or as I like to call it, the I felt threatened so I shot them law.

I've always said the quickest way to repeal  Stand Your Ground laws is for the situation to reverse, and Al Sharpton and Company tell  black folks to arm themselves and start Standing Their Ground.

Who are you going to believe? Me, or your lying eyes?

31 days and counting since George Zimmerman, profiled, stalked, confronted , tormented,  then executed Trayvon Martin, who wailed and begged for his life for 40 seconds\, We have video...finally... .  To say the video is inconsistent with the Sanford Police Department Report,is an understatement.

31 days and counting,  we learn Trayvon Martin's Killer has friends in high places.

31 days and counting since Trayvon Martin was killed, some in  the media are still race baiting, thank goodness for online activists and MSNBC.

31 days and counting since George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Williams, I've learned when the mainstream media cautions us not rush to judgement because we don't have all the fact, they are not going to conduct an investigation and present the facts. No, they are going to wait for their unnamed sources to leak the facts they want us to know, instead of the facts we need to know..

31 days since George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin, black children are still under attack by the people who are supposed to protect and serve them.

Justice is stubborn when  the victim is black.  Ask the parents of the 4 little black girls.  Ask the family of Medgar Evers.  Emmett Till's murderers still haven't been bought to justice.

Justice is swift and sure if the victim is white.  Ask the Scottsboro Boys.

Redeye's Week In Review

We all know republicans love all war all the time so it's no surprise Wisconsin's and the gops the war on the middle class escalated this week. Yep, it's all war all the time, UNfair and UNbalanced.

Governor Walker started the whole Wisconsin union busting spectacle by saying that he’s ready to call out the National Guard, and his call with “David Koch” indicated that he’d considered planting agitators in the crowd, and that he has a baseball bat at the ready in his office.

This morning, his Republican colleagues in the State Assembly passed his bill in a 1 AM vote that was so short that 28 members present weren’t even able to register their vote.

Rham Emmanuel became the new mayor of Chicago this week. I feel sorry for the F^&king Liberal Retards..

Chicago's Daley regime was a half century orgy of arrogance, racism and plunder. Thanks to President Obama, it not only continues with the succession of Rahm Emanuel to the fifth floor office of Chicago's mayor, but with nationwide implementation of disastrous policies toward housing, schools, infrastructure and public workers, all pioneered in Chicago

Southern Public Workers say welcome to our world, Alabama State Senator Hank Sanders tried to tell y'all. But did you listen? Noooo, it was easier to bash Hank Sanders and call him a race baiter. YeeHaw!

Public workers in the South have few illusions about the uphill battle they face. For decades, Southern leaders have viewed promoting a friendly business climate -- including low unionization -- as a key to economic success.

Today, the forces allied against expanding Southern labor rights are in some ways more formidable. Record budget shortfalls have spurred lawmakers to call for containing public sector pay and benefits. Southern Republicans, after enjoying historic victories in 2010, have an opportunity to undermine a constituency that funds and mobilizes their Democratic opposition.

Yes Virginia, there is a difference between republicans and democrats
The difference between Repubs and Dems is that the Dems don’t play as ruthlessly as the opposing team: they usually follow the rules of the game, don’t foul as often, and believe that the spectators should have some stake in the outcome of the game. But make no mistake about it, Dems are as eager to play for the sake of the team, as Repubs, but Repubs are out to play for themselves and themselves only, and the spectators be damned, if they get in their way.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate
Most of you know by now that I believe in the power of communication. I believe that radio and television, for instance, are powerful tools in the propaganda wars in this country, and that they can be used, in a serious way, to benefit those who want to control the message in our day to day discourse. It is imperative that minorities have a seat at this very profitable and powerful table, and that when we do get a seat, we don't waste the space on bulls^%t. (Are you listening Bob Johnson?)

Are you listening Left in Alabama?
I’d like to make it clear that the commenter known as Redeye has no relationship whatsoever with Left in Alabama, even though her name is a link to that blog, which I am associated with.

Redeye over and out...for now.
